Skyrim (PC) & Map & Novels $59 + Free Shipping [Scorptec]

120

Seems like a pretty good deal to me, if you're not in a rush to get Skyrim (They're getting their stock on the 15/11/11, 4 days past release date).
Noticed it when Scorptec first opened their new games department but shipping was $10. However, they now offer free shipping on all their games, AUSwide!
Some people have managed to get other retailers (in VIC) to price-match this price so you could give it a try.
The bundle seems to be identical to what GAME is offering at $88 for PC.

Elder Scrolls Skyrim game
Premium Skyrim Map
The Infernal City: An Elder Scrolls novel (217 pages)
Lord of Souls: An Elder Scrolls novel (304 pages)

  • Oh I'm really tempted to get this! 2 books, a map and the game that would have me hooked for many months. Anyone else reckon this is worth it?

    • Who knows until it comes out and people play it

    • It will be…

  • Anyone know if we can activate this on Steam?

    • Yep, Skyrim is steamworks supported.

  • +2

There are many versions of Skyrim available:
    The very expensive collector's edition:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-PC-Elder-Scrolls-5-V-Skyrim-C…

    The EB games limited edition:
    http://www.ebgames.com.au/pc-152696-The-Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyr…

    The game.com.au version:
    http://www.game.com.au/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim/pc-games/E…

The Dick Smith version (game + Map + booklet):
    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/YG1063/pc-elder-scrolls-v-sk…

The JB HiFI version (game + map + strategy guide):

I think this offer is the same as the game.com.au version.

  • Remember; the version with the map; it's just a dodgy paper map, not the fabric/parchment one they bragged about earlier in development.

    • Strange, as I just got an email this morning confirming that as I pre-ordered early on, I'm getting a cloth map, not a paper one.

  • Is it generally the PC version of the game cheaper than the PS3 and XBOX version?
Just looked on JB site and Skyrim is $89, PC / XBOX are $109.

    • Yeah the PC version of games tend to be cheaper.

      • because PC version have no trade in value.

        • and PC games are easier to pirate as well. Also cd keys are readily available in Russia/china for cheap meaning people are willing to pay less for Oz stock

  • How do you know the game comes with books and premium map? There is nothing about it in the description.

    • Yeah. Cant find any mention of anything except the game on it's own

  • Can't decide between Arkham City and this. While the Arkham City trailer was inviting, the trailer for Skyrim sent shivers down my spine thrice, that's thrice in 2.54 minutes.

    • Well your spine has spoken! I'll be getting it too.

  • just had a call from Scorptec apparently their version doesn't come with the books or map, they offered to cut the price to $50 if i still wanted the game

  • Also just got a call from scorptec, chose just to get a straight up refund.

Nice use of bait and switch.

  • Scorptec do apologise for this error, definitely was not our intention. What happened was the details for the product were listed and copied incorrectly from our games supplier, and when ordered we found out that the specific model with Maps & Novels was not available to us. So we offered the normal version at a reduced rate to customers who placed the pre-order. After this happened, unfortunately the supplier had an unforeseen delay in shipment which is very rare, just extremely bad timing. We informed customers as soon as possible about these issues and will continue to provide our high level of customer support in the future.

  • Just received Skyrim via express post…. took a LOT longer than I was expecting. Yet to get my $9 refund too. I don't think I'll be buying from Scorptec again!
