Cygnett Smart Wi-Fi Plug with Power Monitoring $26.21 (Was $34.95) @ Cygnett eBay

160

This product is a part of a 25% off range of products at the Cygnett eBay Store (You'll find the rest here)

One of the only affordable Wi-Fi smart plugs at a decent price that supports HomeKit - Apple's Home Automation system. Will be getting one in time for the upcoming "HomePod Mini", leaked for launch in October.

It is not a discount code, but a sale, so it should stack with cashback.

  • Anyone got any experience with these and coil whine?
I returned my TP-Link smart plugs as I couldn't sleep in the same room that had them due to coil whine, hoping to get some smart plugs that people have experienced none or minimal with

Seems expensive - perhaps only relevant for those desperate for Apple HomeKit compatibility?

The Kogan versions retail for $56 for 4 but routinely go for $40 for 4, and they do Google Home or Alexa, and have 2 USBs, plus the power monitoring too. Oh - and they're super-narrow, can plug almost anything in next to them too. I have 4 of them and have been very impressed.

Do people pair this with a power surge protector? Especially with more expensive appliances?

  • Anyone had success using these on Home Assistant?

Personally love this plug, works well with the HomeKit and haven't had any problems the last 6 months, highly recommend!

    • How is the cygnett app, and its features?

      • +1

I don't use it. Just set up via HomeKit (so I don't think I can use it). So I miss out on the consumption stats. But a good priced plug for HomeKit integration.

I find it a bit buggy overall, prefer to use HomeKit. However it does show consumption stats which it doesn't on the Apple Home app.

  • Wow this is useless. I added it to the app as per the instructions. But when I try to do anything with it, it just says 'Operation failed, please try later'. This happens on Android & iOS devices.

    • It started working a few hours later. But I can't recommend something with such a terrible out of the box experience.

  • I got a further 10% off offer just by watching or ❤️ it. Which brings it down to $23.59.
Probably targeted but worth a shot!
