No big enough for all the wine I got from woolworths :)

  • How much are saving??

That’s the single zone model. Dual zone is ‘VWD’

    Cheapest dual zone

Buy two of these bad boys and save yourself $999

I bought one and do rate it in terms of efficiency and quietness. Temp range is a bit varied (+/- 2 degrees). But I bought another thermometer I keep in there to be doubly sure.

I have had the 58 bottle Hisense for just over a year, and it has been good. Dual temp zone (although I use it all for red wine). I paid $615 through Union Shopper. Vastly better value than the Vintec I think.

    • Yeah, I picked up a couple of Hisense ones for about $600-700 totaly from the Good Guys about 18 months ago. They have been great and significantly better value than the Vintec.

Also worth checking where you plan you plan to keep them. A lot of the Vintecs I looked at had quite large clearance requirements and despite being "Under Bench" size, were completely useless for putting under any bench I had due to this. The Hisense ones didn't need much of a clearance. Not sure about this model specifically, but something to research before buying.

Vintec quality has been underwhelming - the electric controls / LED display in mine replaced twice, in the end I just gave up as the controls work but the display doesn't ($20 Xiaomi temp/humidity instead of Vintec junk). Don't forget to keep a cup of water for humidity in your Vintec, the dryness is not compatible with corks!

    • Agreed. I have been using Vintec V155SGES3 for 8 year by now. It is a great device, however LED display failed after a few years.
How did you replace LED display in your Vintec? Did you call their customer service or use someone else? Also, did you need to remove all the bottles from the fridge for this work to be done? (I start to panic as my fridge has over 130 bottles in it).

      • Yes they had to be taken out, it's too hard that's why I gave up. If your controls work, grab one of these https://www.expansys.com.au/xiaomi-mi-temperature-and-humidi… they're Bluetooth enabled

        • Thanks Ashburtonian for your advice, very much appreciated.
Oh no, emptying a fridge in order to just replace the LED display is a pain…
So, who did you use to do the job? Vintec themselves or someone else can do it without ruining my budget? (And may I ask if this was a pricey job to do?)
With regards to your suggestion, I must say, that I already have two thermometers, similar to the one in your link, in place. But thanks again for the tip.

    Also this

3 year warranty and costco's easy return policy. Hard to beat for value.

    • Much better deal

    It's not dual temp?

    https://www.winningappliances.com.au/p/vintec-50-bottle-wine…

Seems a massive rip off to me. Just buy two Hisense ones, save $1400

    • That's an underbench version which is relatively more expensive than the freestanding one for eg,

The freestanding one is $799 at JB HIfi: binglee.com.au/vintec-35-bottle-wine-cabinet-vws035sbb-x

What instance would you not have a bench over it? It would be cheaper to put a nice little wood top/Caeserstone over two for instance, and still be cheaper than getting a single vintec in this deal.

  • The cheaper ones are indeed better value, but can't be built in to a kitchen in the same way.
The Vintec is front vented so can - which is why its more expensive.

I have a VWS050SBA-X sitting in a box that cost $1750 from Harvey Norman which is pretty much the same thing.
Hopefully one day Dictator Dan will let my kitchen Reno continue.

I got one with a scratch on it from Grays online a few years ago 150 bottle capacity for about 600. Didn't realise it was dual temp at the time. Might be worth looking out for an auction.

Do your homework online before buying Vintec - lots of failures (including mine) after warranty ends - and basically just an expensive cabinet now- beware
