Optus Plan Query

hi all,

Back in May 2018 I signed up for a 2 yr contract for an S8. $50p/m including optus sports. I think I get 24gb per month data, but use less than half of that amount.

Now I'm out of contract and I've let it roll over at $50 per month, but now it is time for me to get a better deal.

I also pay $5 per month for the fetch mini.

Before I get on the case with Optus customer service, can anyone provide some suggestions on my best way forward? I want to keep the fetch mini & optus sport, and I also want the most cost-effective contract (or maybe just a Boost plan or similar for 365 days).

cheers!

  • You need to get a new contract to get your money's worth OR leave ( you will lose the fetch and optus sport). Either a phone/mobile internet or home internet. Have a look at their offers before calling and ask for a deal

If you stay rolling over you are over paying obviously because you dont get a phone

  • It will work out to be cheaper to get get fetch/Optus sport on individual plans and get 365 prepaid plan with either catch, kogan, woolies or boost.

Currently Optus is $49 p.month with 60gb data and Optus sports included. May be a waste if you barely use 10GB data p.month. If you have Optus Sport as a stand alone service I think it is $14.99 p.month or $139 for 12 month subscription. Since you don't use all the data, it may make more sense to go pre-paid with another service (Boost, Amaysim, Belong etc etc) and get the Optus Sports/fetch separately.
