Forgive me Ozbargain for I have sinned. I have done the unthinkable again and posted a lazy deal.

Since some people say these are spam posts, I've just listed a few items and left the other "bargains" in the catalogue for you all to discuss/post.

Credit to the Facebook poster.

EDIT: Natural Almonds

      • Yes they do, be nice to them now or Skynet will make you pay later!

if games added to paid streaming services are a deal, then anythings a deal. game on

    • If a RRP 12-month Amazon Prime sub is a deal, then anything's a deal.

I think we should allow PSAs to naturally get to the front page every so often. If 200 people upvote the 12 month amazon prime deal or the xbox deal or whatever, then obviously the memberbase here isn't educated enough about that offer yet and the PSA was needed to save the members some money. Members that don't like it can untick the "show PSAs" radio toggle in their settings. But I think secretly they'd miss having something to complain about.

Isn't this a deal per gram of nuts?

      • +1

It is - its slightly better than their 750gm bag last week, and coles' the 2 weeks prior. It was this price already Saturday when I bought some, so not sure if a "special in 9 days" but still a good price
The natural almonds that is - not sure on the roasted pricing comparison

  • someone's already reported this deal for the title wahaha

    prefer unnatural almonds myself

Damn no walnuts. Where can I get them cheap these days?

    • +5

$7/kg at Nuts about life, if you don't mind broken ones.

      • +1

Have you brought before how was they taste similar when eaten raw?

        • +1

I bought a bunch during the last sale, they taste the same but the only thing is I found them a bit soft compared to supermarket Walnuts.

      • why are the broken ones are cheap? not fun to eat?

        • +1

Same reason why ugly carrots and "fruit for juicing" are cheaper too.

          • +1

@wisdomtooth: Bought a few kg of the bakery grade walnuts. I'm guessing it's just the bits that break during packaging, sorting etc, they taste the same. Bargain at 7 bucks per kg plus 10 postage

    • Usually premium California walnuts are available for around $15 /kg at the local fruit and vegetables grocery store.

They are all still at the flat-earth convention, the convention got delayed due to daylight savings confusion

    • +1

Right here. This isn't a deal, it's just normal pricing at best.

  • $8 for the 750g dumplings/gyoza packs is pretty solid

  • Good research finding one Brasil nut a day could reduce the risk of dementia

    1.2kg Natural Almonds $14.99, 1kg Roasted Almonds $15.99

Best price on the natural almonds of the majors; Woolworths better price on the roasted almonds every couple of weeks.

  • +2

ALDI in Waverley Gardens shopping center had 1.2KG Almonds at $14.99 along with the roasted almonds 1KG. @15.99 today

  • What are their normal prices? Similar to this IIRC

    • +1

Indeed, $13.33/kg for raw almonds, $16-17/kg for cashews normally, but I've scored cashews for around $13 from Colesworth specials.

  • Lazy deal with evidence however 😉

  • Nuts about life all the way than this.

The urban Eats gyoza and dumpling range on sale is a post and bargain itself

    • +2

they canned the xiao long bao, which were god tier but pricey for aldi

  • +1

I paid $14.99 for 1.2kg of Natural Almond at Aldi store today so check your local store.

  • I always get roasted almonds. Are natural almonds cooked? Or can I just eat em like that

    • +3

Natural Almond is raw. Suppose to be healthier. You can just eat em like that or use in cooking. Each to their own.

      • thanks

      • Natural Almond is raw

No, not exactly. Precisely, no 🌱 in your OzGarden from planting an Aldi Natural Almond. Reader friendly page there explains origin of issue, in Australia the majority of almonds grown now also pasteurised.

  • I think dealbot’s algorithm has been changed to provoke.

    • Hide & seek again @ nocure?

halloween garbage.. should be thrown in the trash can straight away.

    • Almonds and cashews are top tier food items, not garbage is any sense.

  • -1

    Here, have your 99th upvote.

  • Coles currently has roasted almonds on special for $15/kg ($12 for 800g bag). Natural almonds are the same price, but the Aldi deal is $0.01/kg cheaper for these.

  • -6

Almonds are unhealthy, they are 50% fat. You are doing yourself no favours eating them and just wasting your money.

    • I prefer mine coated in chocolate.

This is the man who has written multiple diet books and says that humans evolved to eat starches only. He calls all animal products and oils toxins (milk, fish, dairy, any oils or fats).

Doesn't really fit with the idea of humans as hunter gatherers. Or any other mainstream scientific data. Wacky

      • There is a video of a much younger looking McDougall saying how easy it is to eat out as a vegan. He goes to McDonalds and asked for a burger without the meat patty or mayo. He was left with a white bun with a slice of tomato and iceberg lettuce, yummy!

He is now 73 but looks like he's in his mid 80s.

    Yay raspberries under four dollarydoos

Have upvoted for the effort to highlight the current state in OzBargain, but these are the normal prices that I buy at.
And there are often some deals that depend on your local area, as there is no online presence, but sometimes, premium nuts can be had cheaper at my friendly local grocery.

Tip: soak the almonds overnight and eat in the morning. They will be soft and give you energy to get your day started.

    • Why would you want to eat soft wet nuts though?

      • I think that's activated almonds.

  • Would that 32" TV make a good monitor?

    • No way absolutely not.

  • is the tv 1080p?

    • Its hard to read but it does say Resolution1366 x 768 (on the lower picture).
I will probably get one for the wife as a second monitor that also doubles as a stand alone tv-netfix-prime device.

      • For 32 you'd kinda expect 1080. Pass from me as a monitor.

  • Nutsaboutlife, the quality is excellent, I must say.

However, $16 cashews is a deal! But, the nutsaboutlife ones are twice as good.

  • Ahh Aldi deals hit the fan again!

  • i want deez.

  • Can we all agree to start pronoucing the L in almonds as an L instead of an R ?

    Armenz

  • This deal is active now. I'm writing this from an aldi in Melbourne.

    • I've fixed the 14/10 start date to 7/10 now, unfortunately anyone who set a reminder when the deal was posted, for the original 14/10 start date, will get a reminder the day after it ends.
