        • Great video, thanks. I learned that a once per day application is perfectly fine even though the packaging advises twice.

I tried it for four annoying months and got nothing to show for it. I now use Toppik with much better results =)

That's like painting your hair not growing it

        • bandaid solution.

        • I thought minimum was 6 months?

      • +4

At a minimum it slows down your hair loss dramatically. Those that are lucky will get hair growing back.
For me it slowed my hairloss right down. It's clinging onto dear life atm. Hopefully i can run this head of a hair for a few years more lol

      • its working for me, i have been on it for nearly 8months

Its just Minoxidil. You can buy satchels from eBay at $20 each.

  • But what if I put it on my chin in an attempt to grow a beard? Puberty didn't help.

    • Save your money and get implants instead.

      • Beard implants?? I'm good…

        • graft some hair from downunder mate. that wavey beard will be glorious.

    • If you're serious, it grows hair anywhere not just the head. People first realised it works for hairloss because people who were taking the medication systemically for their blood pressure started growing hair everywhere

      • So I should drink it? :p

More effective if applied on skin

Ever felt like you don't have enough hair on the back of your hands? Or on your forehead?

Ever thought you'd look a little better with some thicker back hair?

    • I remember seeing an asian dude (Huskybeard) on YT try and he failed miserably but heaps of other people have had success. It probably depends heavily on your genetics. I used minoxidil on my scalp about 5 years ago and ended up with peach fuzz growing on my forehead with way thicker eyebrows and eyelashes. In the end I realised my hairloss was from creatine and after quiting my head hair completely recovered. As a bonus I have pretty nice lashes now but annoying my nose hair is quite thick.

      • Did you have too much or too little creatine?

Tempting…but then I realised it doesn't help with my mid 40's beer gut and lack of $$$ to help with the attraction to pretty young ladies… Damn is vanity a problem! ;) Best of luck everyone - I'm sure you never expected to have to shave the palms of your hands..

Be careful if you have cats, even the smallest ammount of Minoxidil is toxic to them. https://donovanmedical.com/hair-blog/minoxidil-cats

    • Biovea gets a lot of negative reviews at https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/biovea
I signed up for their newsletter to get a 15% off code sent by email but the email with the code didn't arrive. I then looked them up for reviews. I'll give them a miss.

  • How long one need to keep using it? Positively if someone get the results let’s say in an year…still he need to keep using it or after desired result he can stop using it?

    • +2

You lose all the hair you grow when you stop using it.

The only way to keep hair is transplants or finasteride 1mg. The latter has side effects in some people, although works for me. I started MPB at age 16 and I take finasteride 1mg daily and it halted the hair loss completely and regrew some.

  • Finasteride has a risk of some side effects which I don't want to roll the dice on.

    https://www.nps.org.au/medicine-finder/finasteride-1mg-table…

Tell your doctor if you notice any of the following and they worry you:

difficulty in achieving an erection that continues after stopping FINASTERIDE-1MG
less desire for sex that continued after stopping FINASTERIDE-1MG
decreased amount of semen released during sex (this decrease does not appear to interfere with normal sexual function).
It is important to understand that, in clinical trials, these unwanted effects disappeared in men who stopped taking FINASTERIDE-1MG, as well as in many men who continued treatment.

Problems with ejaculation that continue after stopping medication have been reported infrequently. Tell your doctor if you notice this and it worries you.

Male infertility and/or poor quality of semen have been reported infrequently. Improvement in the quality of semen has been reported after stopping FINASTERIDE-1MG.

Even if there is 1% chance of these side effects I want to avoid it. Let me try Regain instead

    • Yep wouldn't recommend it unless you REALLY like your hair.

    • Yeah but you also want to keep your erection sometimes. This slows down loss

      • No, it stopped and regrew the hair I lost. Finasteride can work great and it can not work at all for some people.

Anyway, no side effects I know of, erections are still fine, etc.

  • I used use this stuff and did notice it stopped hair loss but didnt have the discipline to continue using it.

  • Is it available for shipping? I can't add it to the cart.

    EDIT: Nevermind, pick up only.

I know it's meant to be just Minoxidil so all brands should be the same, but I've read on various forums that Kirkland brand doesn't work as well as Regaine for some reason. I forget exactly why but I know people were trying both and getting better results from Regaine. I've been using Regaine foam and liquid (alternate each month) for about a year and it definitely works. I'd love to be able to save money buying a cheaper brand. Anyone else share their experiences with cheaper brands compared to regaine?

    • Used Regaine for a year or two … switched to the generic @ CW (think it was Hair-A-Gain) which was cheaper and noticed a deterioration after a 3 or 4 months. Switched back to Regaine and noticed some regrowth after another few more months.

Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend switching to a generic. Stick with Regaine - you get what you pay for in this case.
