  • This is actually pretty good, considering the Australia Tax.

    • reply to comment makes no sense now

  • Also to note on the E320 atleast is the 128gb SSD is only $168 to option($150 saving)

  • is there a standout deal or just the typical ibm sale?

  • I still can't help but lol at their 'valued at' prices. An i3 with 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD and HD 3000 graphics is valued at $1700? Rofl.

    • IKR! ridiculous!

  • Edge E520 i7-2640m 15.6"
AMD Mobility Radeon 2gb video card
    6gb RAM (2 DIMM)
    500gb HDD 7200 RPM

is actually less than stated above by photonaturally - it is $721.65 inc. GST

thinking of buying it - any thoughts ?

    • Me too, after something for games. Is it worth the wait for 13 days for delivery.

    • Its cheaper as the OP upgraded to a 9 cell battery

    • yes. 9 cell battery. I think it is a worth while upgrade

  • Anyone has any idea on the actual make/model of the AMD Mobility Radeon 2gb video card? 6770? 6750?

    • The previous one was a 6630 - My guess is the marketing department has just simplified it.
Wish it was something better… the 6630 is worse than my current graphics (See: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark… )

    • when I called lenovo, they said its HD 6320.

      • 6320 would be terrible, and was so close to buying this.

        • Yeah the graphics card is a bit poor, but i mean i only really wanted it for the processor and ram anyways :) so even then its still a good laptop.

  • Looks tempting!

  • thinking of buying the thinkpad t520, which is valued at $4k but the 30% takes the web price down to $2,250:

    Main system specs:

    Intel Core i7-2760QM Processor (2.40GHz, 6MB L3, 1333MHz)
15.6" FHD (1920x1080) LED Backlit Anti-Glare display, with Wireless WAN Antenna
NVIDIA Quadro NVS4200M Optimus technology (1GB)
    8 GB PC3-10600 DDR3 SDRAM 1333MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
Intel 160GB Solid State Drive, Serial ATA
    9 Cell 2.8Ah Li-Ion Battery

depend on what you gonna use the laptop for, the GPU rank 156 from
      http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark…

According to the way you choose your specs, i think you would play game at some point, then this laptop not worth $2250. If you like the mobility of laptop ( like me ) then get a cheap one 500-700, spend the rest on a decent desktop. Just my opinion.

      • you are right i will be gaming every now and then. i travelling to europe for a year as of december and i want to buy a new laptop that is best suited to that. i will be playing poker online while i am over there so i need a decent processor, ram and a 15" screen. i am still trying to find the right computer, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…

maybe the e520 with the $100 cash back from lenovo would be best through this deal

If you only play poker, then 1GB dedicate GPU gonna waste ( even it's not that great ), Are you gonna play any high demand game ?( MW3,BF3, Total ect … ) if so use the link i post above to check your laptop GPU.
Other branch has a better GPU @ similiar price ($2250). Shop around or wait if any more deal come up.

when i say use it for poker i also need to:

-run a live database to track hands
-play up to 18 tables at once

ontop of that i want to be able to:

-play diablo 3 when it comes out
          -play skyrim
          -edit video and images
-carry it around europe in my pack

again any suggestions would be a massive help. ive trawled forums the past 3 months and the best i found was the dell xps 15z (but it has major wireless issues i wont be able to deal with) and the macbook pro 15 (gaming not great and a bit out of my budget). cheers

  • I just bought one E520 2 weeks ago and found the price has gone up since then.

and a cash back offer ontop of the 30% off?

    http://moneytree.lenovoincentives.com/?product&s=au-dm#Think…

    • how can I find out which model is it? because from the online shopping I couldn't find the model number.
      Any idea?

      • a sticker on the base of ur computer

        • ok but I need to know the one that I order is included in the cash back promo.
If I bought already and then the model number is different then it is not valid.

      • To find the Lenovo model numbers you need to add it to your cart, and the model will appear then. All the E520 models come up as 1143CTO which is not in the cashback list.

I don't think there will be any matches because it looks like Lenovo allocates different model numbers for retailers compared to the same spec machine that they sell directly. I checked this for a few by going to Support, Use Quickpath, and entering the model number from the cashback list. Some are identical specs to what you can buy direct from Lenovo but the model numbers are different.

    • here a decent laptop with half price of what you gonna pay for … graphic card rank #100
