Patrol lawnmower for around $200

I'm in search for a patrol lawnmower for around $200 and below. I have a small lawn (10m x 2m) and would not want to spend $300++ for a known brand mower.
Will it be unrealistic to look for something decent for this price?
The cheapest brand new I have found is the Gardner's Choice mower found on the kmart catalog for $249

Any recommendations would be apprecaited.

Online is OK as well provided shipping is not ridiculously expensive

  • there's a $229 one I think in Bunnings.

You could probably get an edger and trimmer for less than $200 but the work may not be neat or even (and would take more time).

  • You can get an electric corded for $99 at ALDI or a Bosch Corded electric ~$170 delivered from Amazon.co.uk.
I bought a Bosch and it does the trick… Just make sure you don't run over the cord! Which should be pretty easy to avoid with a tiny lawn like yours.
Bonus of electric is zero maintenance, zero fuel, easy start and quietness!

  • +1

For a lawn that size I'd be buying an unpowered push mower ~$50 or so! ;)

  • A patrol lawnmower = march 10m, turn! march 10m, turn!

  • Mitre Ten have some for about $230 at the moment. I had a look at it but's it's got a non recognised motor and some of the control parts are almost tin plate. I too, am hunting a decent ish mower but damned if I can find one. I had a great Pope 4 stroke for years, that really went on and on even when it was well abused cutting metre high grass when I returned from overseas. I can't find who sells Pope now though. The Bunnings one is a Victa, which I understand, is not the quality Victa used to be. They probably bought up the naming rights and are pushing out crap that poor unsuspecting public will fall for.

  • K Mart have one, a "Lawn Keeper" brand which seems a reasonable quality unit for around $230. The catcher seems a bit flimsy but the rest of it looks good for the money.
Avoid Sanli mowers at any price…. :-(
