I thought Borders shut down? I guess they are now selling online only?

    • +2

No, they were sold off to Persons group. They closed a bunch of stores and restructured.

I certainly won't be supporting any business named Borders. Not when they didn't honour gift cards.

I believe their prices are overinflated. So even with the 30% off, it's not that great. Probably better to go to book depository or something if you're not in need of them urgently.

A lot of books are cheaper on Book Depository but for Australian published books not available overseas 30% off is a pretty good deal.

For example the Kasey Chambers book my mother wants for Christmas is already close to the cheapest on Booko. After 30% off it's easily the best deal.

Lol it didn't make it overseas for a good reason!

Oh, Man, I was getting excited about this, until I realised that Borders don't sell Nooks.

  • I used it to get 'The Strain' by Guillermo Del Toro for $3.50 delivered:
    http://www.borders.com.au/book/the-strain/9836055/

    • Why on Earth would someone neg you for that?

  • They have a very limited collection of books and expensive too. Nothing comparable with other online book stores. I d rather check out local Dymock, which is discounting heavily right now.

  • back to the future trilogy $21.95 before 30% off:
    http://www.borders.com.au/video/back-to-the-future-trilogy/2…

    • That's DVD, you could have gotten the bluray from Amazon UK for ~$18.

  • I got a DVD that I couldn't find elsewhere… so I'm pretty happy. Thanks.

  • Used it to buy The Rugmaker of Mazar-e-sharif
    http://www.borders.com.au/book/the-rugmaker-of-mazar-e-shari…
From $23 to approximately $16. Cheaper than anything I could find on Booko.
    Thanks a lot!

  • Like jase13 said, doesn't work on e-readers. Wanted the Kobo Touch (which is pre-order). Bugger :(

The DVD's I wanted to buy for my little brother are all out of stock. Ah well. Thanks OP!

  • FARTS on their best sellers list I kid you not loool http://www.borders.com.au/bestsellers

    • Ozbargained? =)

Always use it to compare prices before EVER buying a book :)

  • didn't work on a sticker book [mixed media] products

  • Borders is defunct. Drove by the Jam Factory location and it's all been gutted out and boarded up.

Borders went bust - physical stores all closed. The 'Borders' website was purchased by Pearson, big educational publishing mob who also own Penguin publishing in Australia and New Zealand (they purchased the rights to the 'Borders' and 'Angus & Robertson' names and websites).

Example of great bargain with this code - new Diary of a Wimpy Kid book 'Cabin Fever' - RRP $14.95, Borders $9.99 free delivery, 30% discount = $6.99 ! Won't find it anywhere else under $10, let alone this cheap :)

  • Latest Wimpy Kid book definitely cheapest with this code.

  • Picked up Dr Karl's new book, Brain Food. http://www.borders.com.au/book/brain-food/24922565/

Borders are equal cheapest at $22.99 according to booko so 30% off brought it to $16.09

  • How long does this code work for? And can you use it multiple times on multiple transactions? Thanks.

    • not sure how long it lasts for. Yes you can use it multiple times… i did!.
