For $220 you'd think it would look a bit nicer

So it’s not ‘smart’ as in ‘IOT smart’ but just has settings other than ‘on/off’…

    • Hey Google ain't boiling my water in this

  • +2

This doesn't look like the same kettle… Base is completely different (among other things)

    • Also the brand says 'Kambrook'. Usually Catch just sends a refund when they make a price error or mistake.

  • +1

Picture doesn't match the smart kettle description and there's no model number listed. Bit weird.

    • +4

Picture is of the soft top kettle - BKE700

      • Came here to post that.

      • It was sold and delivered by House, and if you look at the product page on the House website, they have the same picture without the base, along with the main picture with the base https://www.house.com.au/product/breville-smart-kettle Same description too.

  • +3

They also marked it as Kambrook
    Lottery what you’ll get

  • Looks like an error on the Catch listing. As the model is not provided and you only save $1.50 I would bet it is for the cheaper kettle.

  • +5

The Smart Kettle has buttons on the base to control the temperature. This does not.

  • +1

Either the photo on catch is wrong, or the description is wrong.

The image appears to be of a BKE700BSS which does not have 5 pre-programmed temperatures in the base, only on and off.
Though the bke425bss ($69) appears to be a cheaper BKE700BSS with a flip switch..

  • oos :(

  • I just did a live chat with Catch and even they have no idea.

"Upon checking, I can see that this item Breville Smart Kettle was sold and will be delivered by MarketPlace seller House. We're also relying on what is listed in the advert"

  • Need a new kettle and was looking today. Need a temp control one. My Cusinart Perfectemp has started to leak. Everything is north of $150 except for the Sunbeam. Any other suggestions?

I have been happy with my Bellini kettle from Target. Using it since 3 years.

      This is the newer model.

      • thanks for that. Is it Noisy? Does it 'Beep' alot? My current one beeps really loudly at the end and its pretty annoying tbh

        • I have the older model and it does beep at the end.I dont mind the beep.No idea if the new model does the beep or not.

    • I hear the Kmart one is pretty decent too; I think it's around $70

Aldi had a special last week, $50, similar to this Breville. Some stores might still have some on stock. It has 70,80,90,100 degree selection, 3 years warranty.

      • thanks. must duck in and try my luck

    • Am in the same boat here. I was going to get a Russell Hobbs Brooklyn cooper one from Amazon Good reviews and looks.

  • I had this kettle for years, found i never used the other settings much, The lid started popping up a fair bit of the time until it wouldn’t shut. It was out of warranty,It didn’t get used daily either Hopefully you guys get a better run out of it.

I have the matching toaster and it’s been a ripper, use it’s other settings regularly especially the “a bit more” toasting button 😂😀😀

Friends have bought the toaster after seeing it…

  • We had one of those kettles (well, the one in the picture at least) in the office and oh man that lid? Just… No! It flicks back with quite a lot of force and if you're refilling it after its boiled you'll have boiling water flick everywhere. It's an awful design.

Ordered and paid via Paypal anyway. Hell it's ozbargain and I will deal with any consequence of my action later.

  • Eh. My low-intelligence kettle seems to work fine…

  • It seems Target and Kmart an Audi have all new models for around 50 to $65 and it's about time

    • +3

      Wow - that's cheap for an Audi….
