+1. Looking for sleeping bags too

Hi , the sleeping bag will have a deal on 6th of November, please pay attention and don't miss it.

        • Will look out for it thx

    • +me ….this is what i need for my pack

      • Hi , the sleeping bag will have a deal on 6th of November, please pay attention and don't miss it.

    • Me too, totally a hole in my all seasons configuration.

      • Bought the cw300 last week and haven't tried it yet, amazon says rated 5-15 but label on bag itself states
        9c Comfort
        4c temp limit
        -10 temp extreme

Packs small and seems an OK size although I'm really unsure if it'll keep me warm at 9 without thermals or extra layers, big downside is it smells! Has a very gamey smell (read cheap down smell / wet dog)

I know it's a cheap / budget bag but I'm not too sure if the smell will be its main downfall (besides temp rating)

I've unpacked it to air it out and I think the smell is slowly decreasing, or maybe I'm noticing it less.

Went for the mummy bag due to higer fill weight in a smaller area but really did condider the square bag style…

  • This has literally been sitting in my Amazon cart for a few days now. I wonder if I should just bite the bullet and get it.

    Packed weight: 2370g (20D), 2650g (210T)

LOL. Perhaps for car camping. Weighed my 3p tent… 626g plus need to add stakes so say 6 x 6g gives 36g taking the total to 662g.

    • What tent is that?

    • +1

And what kind of stakes that weight 6g each?

    • wow that's light! what is that?

    • +1

Not all tents are the same. I'm willing to bet that's not freestanding. Also how was the cost of your tent vs this?

      • +1

Yep, I was thinking the same. I think itsasteal is trolling us or is referring to a "tent" comprising only a plastic tarp. ;)

    • It's a three person $150 tent that has durable fabric, good build quality and it's weight is as you would expect or better for a $150 tent.

As an alternative take the Big Agnes Tiger Wall 3 person tent with carbon fibre poles and dynema fabric. The pack weight is 936 grams so 1434 grams less than the Nature Hike but it costs $1,895, $1,745 more than the nature hike. The dynema fabric is relatively fragile on sharp rocks etc, weight saving is a compromise on durability / comfort. https://www.backpackinglight.com.au/big-agnes-tiger-wall-3-p…

Comparing the Naturehike to a 626gram tent is slightly unfair as a 626g tent will cost far more than this, not be free standing, be less durable and less comfortable so aimed for a completely different market, the market who counts every gram and cut's toothbrushes in half to save weight.

I have the Naturehike Star-river 2, I've been very impressed with it. It is way better built/value than my previous oztrail which cost more but brass grommets fell out the tent pole holes after 2-3 times using it. Looking at other tents I'd have to spend $500+ to get similar or better quality than the Naturehike.

3 person 626g, yeah and I have a 5 person tent that weighs 200g - it's made of pure UNOBTAINIUM.

  • EDIT: wrong post

  • Never mind..

  • I have about had about 15 tents and the cloud up 2 upgraded is hands down the best value / weight. I still use the others for car camping but the cloud ups are brilliant.

    • Agreed, perfect size for 1 with gear, and free standing is the winner for me, it really makes camping on rocky or exposed areas so much easier as don't need to rely on pegs.
