Do You Like The New Look of The Hyundai i30?

Hyundai recently released their next iteration of the I30 and I30 sedan (formerly Elantra) with a new design that's some may say is quite…interesting. What is the general consensus on this new design? Does anyone like it?

  • Nah, that grill looks like (fropanity)… But if you want to keep your lunch down, don't google the "2021 i30 Sedan…"

    i30 Sedan NSFW risky click…

    • And it's $29,900 drive away starting price for an Active Sedan… ($30,049 for the Active Hatch, $27,490 for the standard, WA prices)

      Damn!

      I shouldn’t have clicked.

Man, I think the sedan looks awesome.

      • I think it induces nausea…

          For once I agree

    • Looks like a Tesla.

gosh Hyundai are hiving that triple-crease intersection a hammering now they've worked out how to do it.

  • It would look better with a smaller grille, something similar to the Kia Cerato grille would look good.

  • meh. if the grille was black, it would look 'normal'.
at least the indicators should be easily seen

I like the look of the sedan. I'm very keen to see an N-Line sedan in the flesh, whereas the front end of the i30 hatch looks very average, at least compared to the euro facelift.

N-Line is still stuck without RCTA and BSM and doesn't get any sort of facelift. Still prefer the sleeper look of the SR.

  • the rear has no updates? why?

It’s just a facelift. The current model looks solid in my books. I would prefer they didn’t do a complete remake like the Elantra >i30 Sedan.

      • I like the front grill but rear should have been updated as well.

        • It was tho.
If you look closely you can see the rear bumper and lights are quite different.

The AU Falcon was just 20years ahead of its time!

I reckon the new Merc A class looks a bit too similar to an AU Falcon also.

[Edit: I wonder if the i30 sedan will look better in person, the photos all look to be from odd angles which make it seem AU Falcony]

    • Yeh. They’ve all got doors and engine.

  • Meh. Just another mid size hatch/sedan.

It's awful, but I think that about all Korean cars.

  • Looks like they've "Lexified" the grille but the rest of the car is the same.
And they still have the poorly designed tablet-on-dash entertainment system. How can they integrate it so well in the new Tucson but have a dash growth on the i30?

    • It looks like they copied the Model X.

The Hyundai is better designed though as the side of the screen housing has cubby holes and the face vents are centered. The Telstras face vent will keep the drivers hand cool though.

  • Side profile resembles that of the latest gen Honda Civic sedan.

  • it looks ok

  • You need a middle option, it's not terrible, but it's not a good either
