My old TV was was a 12yo 42" 720p, so this TV looks good to me, but a fussier person might find issue with it, I dunno, lol

        A couple of small issues:
.The "No Signal auto power off" doesn't work, if you set it to 10mins it just tries to turn off every 10 mins when on TV or with a HDMI input.
.The screen saver comes on occasionally at random times when on TV.
.A Netflix ad has played a couple of times when I've first turned it on.
.You have to press a button on the remote every 4 hours or it turns off.

.On HDMI I'm getting brief flashes of black-screen but I think that's due to using 2x 3m HDMI cables with a joiner due to my old 10m cable not working with it, I'll get a new 10m HDMI cable from MSY today.

.The remote is a little slow to change inputs, like with changing from TV to HDMI-2, you have to press the "input" button slowly or a few times before it changes input, I think as it goes to each input it looks for a signal there before it can move onto the next input..

… The gift card payment was on the payment page I'm sure, mixed in with the CC payment and such…

Those are a few minor but annoying issues.
Slow response of remote or turn on is a common issue with cheaper models. These are likely generic rebadged units. So experience with 1 may not be the same as next model. Good feedback on this model.

More expensive TVs generally have better software & problems get fixed.

But many TVs have their problems. Have a Samsung bought last year that would not respond today. Had to turn off a few times before it decided to reset & now is fine. It is slow to find recordings on HDD, but otherwise responsive.

@INFIDEL: It's ok for a cheap tv, I didn't expect a $4000 tv for $570, the issues can be worked with, and I'm still getting to know the TV…

        • Didn't try HDMI cables but I can confirm the slow response from the remote, probably due to Android OS on a cheap TV. I'm happy with the picture quality but the speakers could be better.

          • +1

@anamul: Agree with the poor speakers, they're a little better when you bump up the low frequencies in the settings… I have it connected to an amp/receiver so the speakers are no real concern to me…

        • WTF?!? Called them and the gift card payment system is down. They’re refusing to hold stock or honour the sale price if it’s not fixed today.

          • @M0RGAN: Damn that sucks, when I got mine I was worried they might sell out as I was buying the Big-W gift cards, there's no way I could find other things there to buy that are worth that much!

Any chance of getting into a store ?

Most likely just running them out. The EKO 70" is no longer listed too.

The 55" is very good for the price. 6 star energy rating if that's your thing.

Just please do not try turning on the TV with only HDMI 2 plugged in.

Do not update Google Play Movies app. Shows will not play, and had to uninstall update to get them to play again.

To switch input quicker, press Input button and use the Up and Down buttons to choose the desired input directly.

    • What's the go with powering on with only HDMI2?

      • Will not turn on. Bug.

  • This or the Aldi deal?

At Ebay BigW delivered for $35 ( my location )
    Plenty of stock .

    • OMG, thank you! Cheaper delivery and even saved another $50 with the voucher code TSS100P8NRGS75QM.

But now I have $700 worth of gift cards I need to get rid of at Woolies… at least it was 5% off. Forcing me to do what I've been meaning to get in the habit of, but could never be bothered, lol.

      • Where did you get the voucher code from? It didn't work for me.

        • It showed up on the listing as 'Save AU $50.00 on this item [Show me how]' and automatically had the voucher code ready to select on the checkout page. I forgot 2% Cashrewards cashback though… time to hand in my OzBargain license.

  • any update on a good android tv this black friday sale mates? :) OP? :)
