iiNet have announced they are providing video streams of the English Premier League again for the upcoming season. There are a few changes from last season.

  • Up to five games available on demand each round.
  • Up to four live games each round.

The games are free for iiNet customers to watch and the bandwidth doesn't count towards your quota.

  • More like news item than bargain deal :) .. and pretty specific to certain internet users :(

    • It's still a deal (maybe if I worded it differently - "Sign up to iiNet and get free English Premiere League streams"). It's also not just a deal for current iiNet customers as people who are with another ISP might decide to change to iiNet based on this offer - I just did and I think there will be others interested.

      • Hmm, disagree. You can stream EPL games for free using P2P TV. Plus, they usually don't stream the "big" game live each week meaning you have to wait until it goes on demand before watching it. Additionally, iiNet's pricing is not "bargain" worthy and definitely not worth switching your ISP just for EPL streams.

        • P2P streams are generally less reliable, less quality, and use up usage quotas, although for those on off peak plans, I suppose it doesn't matter too much for matches besides the early ones.

But I agree, not worth switching to iiNet although this would be a factor in a decision for an ISP (if there wasn't Foxtel).

  • Obviously not an EPL fan - it's Premier.

And…how is this a deal? Put it in freebies at least but then again, maybe not worth the post.

Man U FTW again this year! Glory Glory C. Ronaldo!

  • This is a much more reliable stream then any P2P stream. There are never any dropouts and the commentary is always in english. This is a great service. I used it last season with no complaints. You could always get fox if you want and pay loads more…

  • I think Stix is being a bit tough on this deal. It is probobally a lot more interesting than stuff like a $310 iphone speaker or $15 CD case.
Basically the deal is sign up for iinet internet and get free EPL matches without using your download quota. They also have free downloads from ABC iview and the itunes store. This could be usefull for people who can avoid paying for a foxtel subscription

    • Maybe I am a bit but I am just sharing my opinion on the deal - I'm not trying to stir the pot or anything. :) The streams you can get for FREE from P2P TV. With regards to the quota, the deal would be good if you loved EPL but didn't require much download quota. However, IMHO most users who stream are more tech savvy and would use the internet for other purposes, requiring more download quota, and in turn, wouldn't need the streams to not count against their quota. Hope that makes sense.

All that being said, I probably should have given it a positive and still voiced my opinions. If you any mods see this, please change my vote. :D

  • Seems Ozbargin is becoming advertising for some.

    • Ive seen much more blatant advertising than this.

  • this is targetted to iinet customers mainly. I wouldnt know this news as i never login to iinet emails. thansk shoso.

This post is similar to DSE Sydney city store giveaway as not applicable to everyone but neverthless it is valuable information to many.

  • I'm a iinet user and a EPL fan. The stream iinet are taking is the same as the $125 Fox on demand feed. So this post should say - Save $125 when you have your internet with iinet. Thats a bargain. Addressing Stix comments - they will have all the best games so you don't need to worry about missing the big games. This is different from last season's coverage when iinet had a delayed telecast of whatever game Fox decided to give them. However - on the iinet website they have not said once that this is free - all they have said is that the coverage will not count as part of your download limit. So I reserve my vote until someone can point out that it is free.

    • "…they will have all the best games so you don’t need to worry about missing the big games"

Really? How do you know for sure? Check this link: http://www.foxsports.com.au/football/epl/ondemand

Notice how the big 4 clubs aren't in the live games just for the first 2 rounds? My guess is that trend will continue through the season. :)

  • im giving you a + cause you put football instead of soccer as the keyword :)
