same price before black Friday sales.

Great deal but so far no computer related deal has beat the price of the Prime deal last month.

Running 32Gb of that stuff for $152. Unbeatable value.

      • +1

        2x16GB of this was $140 on prime day… 2x8gb was $64

        • +1

Those are prices for 3200. Granted you can OC to 3600 easily, just I think these would technically be better binned, so I can do 3800CL16 easily.

Wow it actually says MT/s rather than MHz

    • +1

I'm about to learn something - is this a good or a bad thing?

      • +5

Neither. It's just usually labelled as MHz when it means MT/s. MT/s is megatransfers per second whereas MHz is the clock speed. DDR means Double Data Rate, so for example this 3200 MT/s memory operates at 1600 MHz (because of the double data rate, the effective speed is twice the clock speed).

Thankyou for that explanation!! cheeky buggers, they trying to pull a fast one!

          • +3

@dandoon: It's just a common conflation of the terms. If you saw DDR4 memory that was actually 3200 MHz then it'd be capable of a whopping 6400 MHz. I was just surprised to see it labelled as MT/s rather than MHz, for once.

            • @Diji: Huh , today i learned something new. thanks for that Diji

        Good read here:

Sorry I don't know how to quote from other sites.

This video is also an interesting watch about memory from the point of view of an overclocker.

Nice, not as low as the Prime Day $76 deal, but still great. I bought two kits and they arrived fairly quickly. They've been sitting in the cupboard unopened, I'm waiting for 5800X or 5900X deals, and MSI X570 Unify deals (or X570 Master, or X570 Ace).

EDIT: Never mind thought this was the 3600Mhz CL16 Kit. That's the one I got, this is still good and will probably overclock easily to 3600Mhz, but the 3600Mhz kit should be able to overclock to 4000Mhz, and once the Agesa update is implemented to the X570 boards, that should allow for 1:1:1 FCLK @ 2000 Mhz for best performance with Zen 3 chips.

  • Is this eligible for this deal?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/585563

    • yes, because you're still buying it on Amazon AU

    • You've only got a few mins left of it to quickly process.

    • Missed out………….was buying another item………….

  • glad bought this @68

  • Wish I could return the 2666 16g that I bought from Computer Alliance this morning…

  • expired, back up to $119

    • EDIT: Replied to wrong post. Sorry, multiple windows open.

  • Would this RAM (or any other ram, really) work with another 2 X 8GB pair I have (Corsair Vengeance LPX) - same timings and MT/s. I don't know enough to know if performance is affected that much by paired modules and dies etc.

    • With the same timings and clock you should be fine.
