Macbook Air 11" $809.10, iPad 2 16GB $494.10 - Wow Sight and Sound Underwood - Tonight Only

180

Sorry it's my first time on here so I hope not leaving anything out.

Wow at Underwood are advertising a 3 hour sale tonight from 6PM till 9PM.

They have some Core2Duo 11" Macbook airs for $899 and they are taking 10% off tonight which means $809.10. Seems like a good price for a macbook!

They are doing 10% off all apple meaning 16gb ipads for $494.10 as well.

Good timing this close to Christmas, I confirmed they do have stock of both, not sure about other stuff

      Should we accept OP's apologies?

    • Do we know for certain that the MacBook Air that Wow are selling is the same configuration?

      • I very much doubt it'd be the 128GB model.

    • what's the story with refurbed macs and the battery? do they put in a new battery or are you stuck with an old and tired secondhand battery?

      • +2

As clearly stated on Apple's site, new battery.

I saw those but the ones at wow are new not refurbished, also they have the 128GB model for $854.10 new which is cheaper than the refurbished one from apple.

Not sure on the rest of the specs though they said they were the just-superseded models

Thanks for the clarification… I wondered if it was the 128GB SSD version. I always prefer comparing apples with apples.

unless you are strapped for cash get a i5 air instead.

I just need a small computer for on the train and travelling but don't want to be stuck with a netbook. Would I really notice the difference going to i5?

        A quick google found

        http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/41125/macbook-air-2010-vs-20…

But generally speaking, a CULV Core 2 Duo is 2 generations behind the Sandy Bridge i5/i7s, so they are way slower.

I have a CULV duel core 1.2Ghz 11inch acer, its fine for most day to day stuff, but it struggles at times. So a Core 2 Duo Air might do the job for you, but a i5 is a very worthwhile investment.

          Agreed.

I read somewhere that 2nd gen i5's are the equivalent of the 1st gen i7's.

          Get the i5.

          Got the i5 for $989 :)

  • Any comments on the iPad pricing?

    • Im curios about this as well, I'm after a 62GB iPad 2 with wifi and 3g

  • Unless you absolutely need it, don't bother buying one since the new MBAs are gonna be insanely fast!
