Logitech G Pro Wireless Gaming Mouse + PowerPlay Wireless Charging Mat $294.30 [$195.30 + $99] @ JB Hi-Fi

90

Not a bad price for local stock if you were planning on buying both of them anyway. Mouse alone for $195 is not the best price around, but the heavy discount on the mat is pretty good.

A good price for the mouse OR mat seems to be around $150, so this is effectively getting each for that price.

Single price is $195.30 for the mouse or $199 for the mat.

  • Serious comment, cause I'm curious. How is this mouse better than my $30 wired Logitech one?

    • +1

      It has wireless charging function…

        • +8

No wire + low weight + great sensor makes a huge difference in competitive FPS if you're into that.

You might not see the value, but I'm using my mouse like 12 hours a day on work/games.

        • gaming mouses are different, very high DPI and very high report rate. AA may last only a couple of hours…
so you need to keep feeding your mouse while it is running……. very hungry mouse…

      • So the wireless charging mat is always charging the battery.
They should have just made it wirelessly “powered”, so they can skip the whole battery part.

        • If so then they can't sell it separately and people can't bring it with them without the the charging mat.

          • @beOson:

people can't bring it with them without the the charging mat.

Forgot about that. Someone else also mentioned this in previous comment, it is common these days for “computer people” to carry around their favorite mouse. It is common new thing I guess.

I just thought constantly charging rechargeable battery is bad for the battery. Like if it always charging from 99% to 100%.

            • @thebadmachine: It doesnt fully charge the battery, cycles between 70 to 85%, currently mine is sitting at 82%

For some reason logitech say much higher charge themselves.. https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360023351953

Anyway you can buy a replacement battery for cheap on aliexpress and the G pro is actually really easy to take apart and the battery is easily accessed. The only thing is you need to buy replacement feet once you open it.

Personally I think the switch will go before the batteries go. Switches aren't too hard to replace either. I had to replace the switch on the G900 after 3 years and that was a much harder mouse to disassemble, many little fiddly bits.

It's lightweight, comfortable (depending on hand size), feels more premium, uses wireless tech that has effectively zero latency.

It's basically a premium option for gamers. I've personally used it and find the G703 much more comfortable which has the same tech just different shape.

i used wired up until 6 months ago using a g pro wired. i saw the deal for the g304 wireless which basically had the same shell as the g pro wired. I wasnt ready to fork out $200 for a wireless mouse just yet so i decided to throw $50 at this one instead. Since using the g304 i have been very pleased with the freedom that the the wireless mouse uses. I have around 5000 hours playing Apex Legends, PUBG and the Division over the last 4-5 years that i can comfortably say that I execute much better sprays and recoil control using a wireless over wired.

As for all the other technology the g pro offers, i cant really speak for that.

The only differences that you would really notice is that it's wireless and has some other features like being able to add or removable side buttons on either side and being able to add additional weight to it of you want. There is also the ability to use the wireless charging mouse pad however that come with a premium.

For me personally I don't think it's worth the price premium.

    • This mouse is marketed to be very light and it is known to conform to most hands.

The main selling point is that it is wireless yet lightweight (~80g) AND fast (no observable difference to wired response times). You don't need to switch batteries as it is rechargeable. So for a gamer you get all the nice gamery features without much compromise. Adding the wireless charging mat puts it up the notch by not worrying about battery at all.

I personally think that this mouse is worth the $150 but the wireless charging mat is a no deal for me.

  • Only because I’m too lazy to type

  • Is this the new version of the G Pro?

    • +1

The new one is G Pro X I reckon mate. I would anyways go for the “old” G Pro which has a two additional buttons and only a few additional grams

      • Ah thanks! Such confusing names as almost all of its line up are G Pros lol.

They may be able to sell it at this price if they change the name to SPACE MOUSE.

$200 for a mouse? Is it 1983 again?

    • I remember using Microsoft intellimouse. One of the first optical mouse I think, very nice.

    • +1

I remembered you commented the same thing on another post. I think you have a serious problem mate…

    • +1

Maybe how many ever years ago when wireless mouse was first introduced, the tech is mature enough now to make the switch, the problem is just the price. The new G Pro Wireless Superlight is like $250+ AUD.

      • Glorious Model O Wireless releases next month at PCCaseGear for $130, I'm very tempted by it.

  • Nah… I think charging pad like this one is overrated. You can get Razer Viper Ultimate or just the G Pro Wireless for ~$155.

RVU is good because of the charging dock station (no need to dis/connect to charge, very convenient) just leave it on overnight.
I think the GPW by itself is already good with battery life, charge once a week with low RGB brightness?

    • +1

I've had something similar (Razer Mamba) and I don't think a charging dock is anywhere close to the same experience. It's just a matter of whether you are inclined and have the spare cash to throw at it.

      • Yeah I guess. Going from charging cable for your wireless mouse to a charging dock is nice though.

  • +1

    Pad's not worth $100.

G Pro Wireless x Superlight will be out in a few days for $260. That plus a 30$ pad would be better.

    • I'm pretty sure Logitech Power Play is proprietary, so would still require a PowerPlay Wireless Charging Mat if you want to go down that option.

    • A few days? I thought it was going to be Feb for Aus

Better Value IMO, just dock the mouse after you are done using it.

  • The mouse itself has gone up to $249, definitely not worth it at that price (348 for bundle).
