[VIC] Drivers Licence Change of Address - Can I Get A New Licence?

Victorian driver here.

I recently moved suburbs and notified VicRoads on their website of my new address which reported "We have posted your change of address label"

This was over two weeks but nothing received yet. In people's experience, is what they send you actually a label that you stick on your old licence?

I think I'd rather request a new licence with my new address on it if possible.

    Sticker for the back.

If you want a new one, buy a replacement. You'll still need to complete a COA first though.

Replacement licence = $24.60 + Card payment fee - if applicable.

    Sticker for back = free.

Getting a new photo with your current haircut: priceless.

The sticker is really sh.t. The address on it rubs off in no time! I just got a replacement licence card after i had a "blank" address label twice. When I did things like collect parcels, it was a bit difficult to show my address.

The simplest way to deal with things like that is to cover the address label with clear adhesive tape. That stops the print rubbing off. Works well with any laser printed label, membership card, etc etc.

    As Hithere said above.

But make sure you have done a change of a address that has gone through, before you do the a replace licence request. This will cost you under $30 to get a new licence after all fees etc.

It will depend on how long you have left till your licence expires, if its only 12 months, then just wait and you'll get a new licence as part of that renewal, so stick with the free sticker. Hint, put some tape over it to help protect it.
