Update 26 Dec: Ships 1 Feb 2021
I paid $588….
I paid $449 - laughing…………
I'll cry if the monitor drops under that price
Paid 599. Sold for 499
Why did you sell? What did you not like about it?
@[Deactivated]: Screen is good. Ended up giving up from the pcmasterrace. Sold my $4k PC and got a Xbox + PS5 and I couldn't be happier. I don't spend my time and money with PC anymore.
@Dienk: I am also thinking of doing the same, but I use PC so much that its easier if they are both in one.
@Dienk: What many people don't get is, if you find yourself just using your PC for work and general use more, and don't feel like playing games, then its best to just be modest on the parts, a cheap console for those games you do want will be plenty.
Hell, I just use the PC for videos now, the Switch is the only thing I play nowadays.
28degrees price match master race
Absolutely worth it at this price. Great monitor and specs for price. I got one for 75% work, 25% gaming and its excellent.
Damn! Just paid $520 last wek
is eBay marketing team on leave now? Normally they will run a sales for this model.
Kmart online is back in stock for this one today $499, just ordered mine.
https://www.kmart.com.au/product/xiaomi-mi-34-inch-curved-ga…
out of stock already in Kmart :(
Kmart selling (gaming) monitors???
It's leftover stock from Cyber Monday sales for Kmart
Just a note for Kmart: "This product is excluded from the free delivery* offer and will incur a delivery fee."
Great 1st Post. Beating Kmart $499
is it ok to order from Kogan?
Never purchased from Kogan before and read some warranty issues / receiving used products. Is that still an issue?
Should be fine. They bought Smith Dick
:)
thanks
Kogan bought the Dick Smith online domain and brand name. That is all. It is not the old Dick Smith. It's basically Kogan under a different name. If you buy from the Dick Smith online store you are actually buying from Kogan. So just because Kogan owns the Dick Smith online store doesn't mean any difference. You deal with Kogan.
It's good until you have an issue and can only email them, then you wait…
I found their warranty service reasonable enough. They reply to emails within a day or so & repaired then refunded within a reasonable timeframe.
That said, I was returning a mobile & had a spare to use while Kogan warranty service were doing their thing.
If I hadn't had a spare device to use I probably would have been driven nuts by the week or two turnaround for repairs.
you mean like with Amazon, Facebook…. the rest
Facebook ? Would rather prefer a retail shop instead of going back and fourth in emails for days before something happens… Each to their own I guess.. Amazon is the exclusion as chat is almost instant
Got one of these. Pretty good screen if you can go without the gimmicks. Missing a few conveniences like shortcut to switch inputs easily but that's about all that annoyed me about it.
Try avoid kogan, I will rather go with Kmart if possibe, delivery never promised on time, and warranty is quite tricky as well….
How long is the warranty? Is it 2 years?
I already ordered the Dell S2721DGF, should I cancel and get this one instead?
Depends what you want. It's fast IPS (dell) vs average VA (xiaomi)
Fast motion, the Dell hands down.
Wider screen, better blacks but at the expense at motion clarity (bad ghosting and black smearing) the xiaomi.
Hardware unboxed on youtube has videos on them both. I'd recommend to check those videos out.
I think it is worth getting the ultrawide for the experience but only if you can live with some caveats. I have the Dell S2721DGF and it is a very fast and responsive monitor pixel wise. It is very bright and HDR is somewhat passable for Youtube HDR content. Everything spec wise is excellent and I feel satisfied knowing this. However, my untrained eyes couldn't tell me any of the visual benefits during gaming. I can test for it and the motion/pixel response are spot on but it doesn't translate to real life gaming. The one thing i didn't like about the Dell S2721DGF is the contrast ratio. Dark videos look washed out and some scenes look pale.
Then I went looking for a VA panel specific for productivity purposes. Got the Xiaomi Mi Curved 34" for $470 delivered and it was such a good deal. Screen is just as tall as the Dell S2721DGF but much wider. It is marvellous for work and I can have two spreadsheets opened side by side or on top of another sheet if I want the full width. The benefits for productivity became apparent. The monitor is just as bright. There is no HDR support but all the videos look contrasty and dark scenes are blacker! Games look vivid again (in comparison with the Dell). Colour wise it is not the greatest compared to some 4K IPS panels but this panel appears to be a good compromise given the price. Sure dark level smearing is visible if I purpose make it so but it is not noticeable 95% of the time. Then I played games with it. G-sync works the same and it is very smooth. Motion isn't good compared to the Dell but it didn't ruin the experience for me. I tested some scenes in Control and Cyberpunk, I don't see those dark smearing. I had the pixel response on Medium setting as recommended.
There's one thing I will say about the Xiaomi though that is quality. My first unit developed dead pixels. I was pretty sure it wasn't there on day one but few days later, it developed a few. Thankfully the store provided good support and assisted with the RMA process with Xiaomi Australia. Within a few days, Xiaomi delivered a replacement at my door step. I remembered the first panel colour wasn't consistent. The bottom portion where Windows taskbar is located appeared pale in comparison to the rest of the panel. I didn't have this issue with the second panel. It is much better and no dead pixels so far (fingers crossed).
In the end, I am thinking of selling the Dell S2721DGF mainly because I have no room for another monitor. To me the extra real estate appealed more to me. So if you're like me, pick the Xiaomi but from a known reseller that will support you should the panel develop any issues. If you don't want this hassle but still want an ultrawide? Spend a bit more for the Gigabyte G34WQC (same panel but better pixel response tuning) or head straight to the Samsung CRG9 49" (as good as Odyssey G9 but way cheaper).
Out of 10 how would you rate it purely for work? Use of spilt screen?
Have you had experience using two of the 27 dell screen side by side?
I have experience using dual 25" monitor setup at work. Its no 27" obviously but I would rate it the same. For productivity work, it is glorious. However the physical border between both screens is PITA. It is how Windows work. Sometimes I accidentally trigger windows snapping and sometimes Windows's scaling would glitch despite both monitors being exactly the same. Then there are minute colour differences between both panels and white points. I don't have access to a colourimeter hence why.
When I moved my home setup to an ultrawide, all those problems went away. There's no hard border (bezel) to worry about and I make full use of the real estate. It is especially handy during a Teams call with senior management. I have the Teams call on the top right where I can monitor their visual responses, bottom right where I can have a chat window with my team mates so we can exchange information (e.g. help out each other lol) while the call is happening. Far left I have Outlook snapped to the full height of the monitor so I can quickly search for information. The centre of the monitor is reserved for anything I am sharing on the call live.
For purely work, I would rate the real estate 10/10, UWA is a game changer. For the Xiaomi, I would rate 8/10 overall with the two points for pixel response/dark smearing and colour consistency over varying viewing angles.
Wow, thank you or that amazing response. I have attached so many videos on both and really don't like the dark level smearing but everything else I like a bout he Xiaomi.
I have a dell on the way for $460 but I'm thinking I'll either cancel it or try to resell it when it arrives.
You've convinced me to test out the Xiaomi so I'm thinking I'll get it hopefully the smearing won't annoy me.
Edit: I've just purchased one so I've got both on the way, the Xiaomi should arrive much sooner, but I'll give it a go and if I really don't like it I'll pass it on and wait for the other but if I do I'll cancel the Dell S2721DGF order.
I would love to know too… Can't make up my mind on what to get
which store did you buy your xiaomi monitor from? sounds like you got pretty good service from them
I got it from Digidirect over Ebay. I think they are quite good and I have purchased several camera equipment from their Sydney store. When I reported the problem with my first unit, it took 1-2 days for them to respond because according to the person I corresponded, they had to wait for Mi Australia for instructions. Once that got out of the way, it took 2 days for the monitor to reach them (via Auspost Sydney to Sydney). After that a new one was sent within 3 days. Total time about 1.5 weeks. Its not the best but at least they kept me updated throughout.
Haha thanks dude precisely what I wanna know
Does this monitor have a crosshair overlay?
Nope. Basic OSD with the essentials
I ordered back in April, had delivery pushed back three times until October. I cancelled the order. I did get $60 credit out of it though which was pretty good.
Are you talking about such delay for this monitor with Kogan? or dell, where everyone's order is pending for multiple months
So tempted by this price!
Just wondering if anyone's tried the "left and right split screen" or "picture in picture mode" features?
https://www.mi-store.com.au/xiaomi-mi-curved-gaming-monitor-…
I'm wondering how that translates e.g. I could have main HDMI source to be a console game, and picture in picture to be work computer?
Or left/right split screen means I could have console game on left, work computer on right?
Otherwise only other holdback is Kogan warranty concerns.
And that’s a big concern
Hey dude, I'm not sure what everyone else's experience has been but side by side is really hard to get working right. I was trying to get it to work with 2 PCs and whilst it can be done it was a bit of a mess of settings.
PIP was better, but I haven't used it extensively. I also don't want to burst your bubble but I've heard that the consoles struggle with the ultrawide format? Might be better to have work big and gaming small.
As just a big work/gaming monitor it's been great though, would recommend!
Hope that helps!
brettyfxu, thanks for reminding me! I should've remembered my PlayStation wouldn't do 1440p.
Still keen on keeping an eye on gaming while working 😄
Is it easy to cancel Kogan First trial after I make an order?
Very easy. Click of a button in the settings then it will remain active until the 14 days has run out.
Waiting for it to reach $450 again before buying one for the bus.
Would pay more to not have to deal with Kogan again, sorry
Ozbargainers favourite monitor
What's the best way to break a Kogan 30 inch ultrawide monitor I got just over a year ago to justify getting this one?
Sell it instead?
Did this just change to pre-order? Didn't see that there when I ordered.
Ships on 1st Feb.
would be safer to get it from a ebay seller (based at parramatta) for $526? seller got 99.4% - 6050 positive feedback
it shows:
PRESALE

You got it for $450 on the 23rd?
Link for those playing at home: https://www.kmart.com.au/product/xiaomi-mi-34-inch-curved-ga…
Called all the Kmart stores near me. No one says they have any in stock.
Alright, just placed an order. Used true choice gift cards for 5% off + the Kogan $15 cashback + new account $5 credit for $425.55 delivered. If it all tracks.
5 of these in stock at Kmart Southport for $450.
ordered from Kogan. hoping for the best
What is the language of this unit from Kogan? Is the monitor on-screen controls gonna be in Chinese?
Mine came in Chinese, but a google search showed me where English was and how many button presses to reach it without reading, it's not a big deal, all units have all languages, just need to switch.
That's the thing about the wide availability and user base of this monitor, everyone already figured out the kinks and shared their knowledge online for the rest of us.
Anyone get this shipped yet?
Bought it when it said it was in stock, not shipping in Feb.
nada - i guess we are on the same boat (or container).
same still waiting.
i keep getting emails about it being on sale at a higher price.
its currently advertising that its in stock and will ship in 3 days on the sale lol
Did you get yours yet? I'm still waiting.
still waiting and no update or news about ETA
Kogan support confirmed that there has been a delay in receiving the stock to their warehouse, orders will now expected to be dispatched on 18th of January
Kogan support confirmed that there has been a delay in receiving the stock to their warehouse, orders will now expected to be dispatched on 18th of January
Still no news on dispatch, anyone hear differently?
Same here… message gone back to 'we are running late'… this is getting really ridiculous….
I emailed them today and was told it is at the last stage in warehouse and will be dispatched in 24-48hrs…. let's hope this happens this time..
I just got an email notification that my monitor has now shipped. Having said that, It was also noted that its power cable would be shipped separately.
1x Kogan IEC(C13) Power Cable (1.5m, Black) Yet to ship
This is the first time that I have seen a power cable bundled separately from the monitor itself, but perhaps this just specific to the way Kogan is delivering this unit.
Looks like Kogan have done the dodgy (no surprise), tracking reads as though they have created a manifest to make it look like the item is with Australia Post and appear on their system but haven't actually given it to them and then can blame Post for the delay
100%. all my other postages from monday/last week have all arrived to me or are in the sorting centre of at least QLD lol
Just got mine today
I hate you i just paid $540 :( Just kidding good deal
