Hotel Quality Queen Mattress

Alright, I had enough! Went through several mattresses over the years, usually around 1.5k, from proper places like bedshed, HN, mostly pocket spring.

However, still ended up with constant back pain after few years of usage. (sleeps on my tummy) . So sick of mediocre quality mattress now, I just wanna buy one of the best out there, especially like those at high end hotel. It's definitely the case of buy right, buy it once.

Personally, I find firm mattress work best for me, and definitely no pillow top. Any suggestion? Hope to hear from those hotel staff, of what brands are popular? TIA

    • If they are good that seems really quite cheap?

It's just for the mattress; you still need to pay for the base. Assuming these are the same mattresses they use in the hotel, seemed fine to me. OP did ask for a high end hotel mattress shrugs

Probably have to pay $$$ for shipping too

Still seems cheap compared to some of the rip off things at the bed shops. Seems to fit the bill for op.

That seems like a good price!

to be honest, the best matresses we ever bought were from Ikea. 2 queen size and 2 single beds for the kids. We have had zero issues with ours which was one of the more expensive ones at $450. They come with a 25 guarantee and great return policy. Don't think for a second that you're getting a better product because you're paying top dollar.

Ikea one I found always too thin.

I’ve stayed at a Rydges that has this and sooo comfy.

We bought a mattress topper from these folks and it makes a big difference, although it is very hot and not really suitable in summer.

Thanks for the recommendation, but have to rule out since it got pillow top. Like you said, just too warm during summer, plus it's the only part who gives way before the rest of the mattress typically.

What hotel did you stay at?

many aussie hotels use Sealy and Sleepmaker
    (they sell the mattresses too)

With a mattress you get what you pay for.. the mattress i sleep on retails for over 10K (its NEVER that price as its always 40-50% off) and i sleep better now than i ever have

Also.. if you are not sleeping well even on a decent mattress chances are the firmness is wrong for you. You say Firm yet you complain you do not sleep well. Maybe you should consider a medium mattress or a firm with micro coils (mini coils in a topper)

(Disclaimer: I work in the industry, not selling anymore but still in the mattress/bedding industry)

Well, I always slept on firm, but not rock hard like sleeping on floor foam mattress of course. One thing I know I wanna avoid now is pillow top, as it always negates the real firmness of the mattress.

I done stay in many high end hotel, but one that came to mind was Westin Hotel, Sydney.

I am yet to try this but people recommend Sleeping Duck. Google it. They are based in Melbourne

I got mine at Domayne for around $5k - Sealy Posturepedic. My mattress is wayyy better than the last 5 star hotel i stayed at :)

Guys, help me! Deciding between sleeping duck (due to the favourable change of mind policy) and sealy super firm from myer (cashback and 50% off). Both came to around $1900 after discount. Which one should I go for?

I have bought from Myer boxing day sales in the past and never disappointed.
I've bought a $1K and $4K Sleepmaker at 50% off. I do sleep better in the higher end one. Try them at the store and decide there.
Sleepmaker or Sealy are pretty similar.

I also collected enough myerone points for a $100 voucher.

I also looked into Sleeping Duck but couldn't make the time to visit the showroom to try it. Whereas I tried the Sleepmaker one and it felt good.

If you are not going to try either I'd go for the Sleeping Duck as you can return it if unsatisfied.

Thanks for your input. I went for the sealy in the end due to the instant 14% cashback from CR. The other important thing is I can't convince myself that a mattress packed I to a box could provide better edge support.
