  • Good price. Got mine for $96.33 shipped from amazon after 12% cashrewards rebate on boxing day but if you missed that, then go for this.

Can you just paid the xb1 or series x/s controllers with any bluetooth receiver on pc?

    • Yes, you can pair them with a PC with Bluetooth.

      • whats a good bluetooth receiver you recommend??

        • +6

I don't have enough experience in the field to recommend one to you. What I do have is a BT adapter I don't use. Happy to let you have it.

    • +1

yes, the regular xbox one controller can bluetooth pair to a pc, however i dont recommend it. i just bought one recently, and the bluetooth connection constantly drops out, making gaming difficult.

i googled it and heaps of other people have this issue, with none of the fixes resolving the issue.

i should have just got this one that comes with an adapter for an extra $10…

  • If your PC motherboard already has Bluetooth are you better off buying a different Xbox controller?

    • Well you don't need to use the adapter. Though some may prefer it regardless.

Any new Xbox Controllers should have Bluetooth. Doubt any old ones are lying around now

  • Do these include the rechargable battery pack?

  • They also have the previous-gen controller + adapter for $11 cheaper https://www.pcbyte.com.au/store/product/microsoft-xbox-one-c…

    • What is the difference between the one in this deal and the one you linked? Any significant changes in the new version?

      • New controller (one in this deal) is slightly smaller, and has a share button, circular dish d-pad, textured triggers/grips and usb-c. That's pretty much it.

  • ripoff. the PS4 controller is only $48…

    • +3

For me Playstation controller are too confusing on PC when the button mapping are different. The default buttons are mostly Xbox button maps and the joystick's placement is better on Xbox. Sure no one is stopping you getting the ps4 controller on PC.

      • Ds4windows literally turns it into a Xbox controller lol the PS4 controller is solid for 50 Bux, and has more features solely because DS4 windows exists. Got one last week being surprised as hell, it's awesome and it works with a cheap ass Bluetooth adaptor I have from 2 years ago. I will never recommend an Xbox controller over it now haha

        • PS4 controller is smaller and has symmetrical joysticks, those are just a couple of the reasons why many prefer the Xbox controller. I have both but the only thing I like more with the PS4 controller is the d-pad (good for fighting games).

          • +1

@MiscOzB: Why do people not like symmetrical joysticks?

            • @BadGiraffe: Xbox controller stick placements feel more natural to them I suppose, and it's just what they're used to.

  • Its a good deal. The Xbox controller is significantly better in build quality and usability than the PS4 one.

I would highly recommend people NOT buy this! The latter Xbox One controllers use Bluetooth which you can use to pair to your phone and tablets as well. That's very useful for mobile gaming.

Also if you can get any deal on the latest Xbox Series X controller that may be the best.

'An updated revision of the controller is included with Xbox Series X and Series S starting in late 2020. It has a refined build with a slightly smaller body, a "Share" button, a circular dished D-pad similar to the Elite Controller, and a USB-C connector'

Wikipedia has some nice comparisons between all Xbox One controllers.

Thanks for this buddy. I will hold off from purchasing this one.

This is the Xbox Series X controller in this deal, he's thinking this is the original Xbox One controller without Bluetooth.

        • Compulsive is right, this is the new controller with the dish style d pad.

I was checking what are the new upgrades. They include:

          1. USB C
          2. Low power bluetooth for less battery usage
          3. Low latency between this controller and the Xbox series X
          4. Ability to remember different devices such as PC, console and mobiles/tablets (This is really good!)
          5. Smaller size if you prefer that

It is worth buying, kinda pricey but very good if you want a solid controller for the next few years.

      • Check my reply to compulsive. This is the new controller if you wanna get this.

    • I would argue the PS4 controller has more useability. Obviously DS4Windows is required and it turns it into a dream, with a touch pad and lights which just makes it sexy. Custom key combos macros mapping. It's great and I'm shocked at how satisfied that I decided on the PS4 over Xbox, I will never reconsider or stop recommending until the day DS4Windows stops existing

      • Microsoft should really let you do Xinput mapping for your regular gamepads on Windows. I guess that's how they make you buy more of their stuff then.

      • There are 2 benefits of the Xbox controller over the PS4.

        1. Ability to use any AA batteries which means even if your controller sits collecting dust, it never really becomes useless.
        2. Bigger in size and joysticks are much better with finer control
        • Batteries sure, but replaceable on PS4 if your desperate. And size is completely subjective, you actually need pretty massive hands to find the PS4 uncomfortable

This IS the Xbox Series X controller, not the original Xbox One controller…

    • You say at the start:

I would highly recommend people NOT buy this!

Then go on to list why to buy this?

  • If using the play and charge kits the old micro USB seemed to get loose (or the cables did), so far the USB C connector appears much better.
The old play and charge batteries work in the new controllers which is good, just start using a USB C cable and away you go.

I upgraded my old XBONE controllers for the new ones using the EB trade in deal for $49 - less what ever bonus from EB World you get.

  • Wait, is this the standard wireless controller that comes with the Xbox One?

    • +1

This is the Xbox Series X controller.

  • Is this rechargeable with batteries?

Edit: oh $30 for recharging thru usb c

    • You can get an entire pack of AA batteries from bunnings for $30. The batteries in the controllers last ages, i would say at least 100 hours of gaming if not more.

  • I have the old dongle, does anybody know if the new Xbox series controllers can connect through that, or is the newer smaller one as shown in this deal necessary to connect the new controllers to pc?

    • That’s worth a google. As the controllers are forward and backward compatible I expect the USBs also are able to work with either.

  • This controller is also heaps better than the regular xbox one controller, there are small changes, but they make a big difference to how it feels and works. Its very 'tight' in that the d pad is very responsive, and the grooves at the back make it more grippy, im sure this will help gamers who get sweaty hands.
