Canon S100 Powershot $421 when purchased with an accessory at JBHifi

70

With thanks to the Whirlpool forum, JBHifi is (begrudgingly) selling Australian stock of the Canon Powershot S100 camera for $421. However, it appears the only way to get this price is with the purchase of any accessory - in my case a gorillapod.

I have also attached a copy of another receipt, should they claim mine to be fraudulent (credit to Patches)

Tip: When trying to find which store has stock, quote the SKU or product number 78391. It will speed things up.

Currently I believe the North Ryde store still has 1 or 2 cameras left in stock, but one is likely to be on display. Other stores in the area have none.

how difficult was it to bargain down? and what was their asking price?

    • JB has 10% off all cameras at the moment. So $488. Full price is around $543

  • Great price - I was considering getting one of these as a walk around travel pocket camera, might see if the local JB will match it.

  • it's not listed on their website is it?

  • Very good price! it's over $600 at Amazon Japan and $429 at Amazon US and B&H.
I got the s95 last year and it takes great pics, good alternative when you don't wanna carry your big heavy DSLRs around.

    • Prices are only high coz it hasn't been officially released in the US yet. ie. they're selling Jap/EU imports to the US market.

  • just tried chatswood westfield, no stock :( (ticket price = $543)

  • Rather pay $448 and not have to buy some overpriced accessory for $20

    • its 10% off ticket price $543 = $488
      not 10% off $488

btw i just bought this at jb northryde, Had to get the attendant to call the Paramatta store to confirm the legitamacy of the receipt. They thought I photochopped it…
had to purcahse the case with it also…

      • Was that the last camera in stock

        • I believe the attendant said there were 2… in which I took 1, the other may be the display one as quoted by jso.

  • nice find! i think the biggest enemy will be stock for most people
