  • bought one of these a while ago. really useful for my sim rig.

  • Can anyone confirm that this comes with rechargeable internal battery? some review says no battery included.

    • No. I bought this last week. No internal battery. Requires 2xAAA

    • The description also says it require 2x AAA not included.

      • Mine's included although with all Chinese branded batteries, I wouldn't leave it in there for too long. Once they start leaking there's no going back.

I haven't figure out how to change the light colour, anyone..?

        • The blue function button and F2.
It shows that on the 5th image with this listing.

    • mine came with an internal battery

    • +1

No, i have bought this exact one.

      Battery Type: 2 * AAA batteries(Not included)

      And be glad for it.

Those BL5 or whatever rechargables are often fake, or 90's nokia old. People have worlds of charging problems.

2x aaa's last about a year id estimate, and im touching it every 20 mins or so to modify netflix.

Ive been trapped indoors with a spine injury, so its had a good workout.

      Fantastic keyboard.

  • Anyone know what the range is? I'd like to use it with my Sony Android TV, about 4 meters away.

    • With line of sight ive managed about 30m.

I use it to control my CarPuter when im parked up and want to change tunes from across the yard.

  • 100% sold

    • Regular Price is only $12.89 anyway

      • Oh yeah, that's not bad.

  • Any suggestions for a mini keyboard that uses AAA batteries? I find it more convenient to swap batteries than having to recharge li-ion batteries.

    • +1

This exact one in this deal, is very good.

Im literally using it as we speak.

      Battery Type: 2 * AAA batteries(Not included)

  • I bought a similar one to this….
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07FF29N3C/ref=ppx_yo_d…
…and the battery life was crap. I even tried swapping the battery for one from another one (no backlight) that I knew was good and still crap.
The battery would only hold charge for 2 days. I even tried turning it off after each use and still only 2 days max?
My one without a backlight lasts months and months before a recharge.
Such a bumma, really wanted that backlight but I really cant be stuffed charging it every two days.

    • Dud rechargeable it sounds like.

Modify it to 2x aaa, or a single 18650.

      • As I said, I changed the battery for one that last months in a non backlit one (and thats without ever turning it off).

        • I can assure you the aaa batteries in this exact keyboard last months with backlighting, and 'always on' also.

Have you done a mAh reading with a decent charger on that 'good' rechargable though?

The reason I ask, is because, while agreed, no backlighting would indeed draw less; if it's say, 20mAh vs 100mAh, then a 200mAh battery would last 5x longer, while still being a total dud of a rechargable.

          Aaa's are roughly 1000mah.

Also, since those backlights are LED's, you can make it last longer using rechargable batteries; because a lower forward voltage (2.4v compared to 3v) would make the led's draw less, yet still likely be a-ok for backlighting.

        • Actually, i own a proper multimeter, ill tell ya what it draws. One minute…

          0.05A on, but no led
0.08A LED off mode, pressing a button.
          1.00A backlit red
          0.91A backlit green
          0.87A backlit blue.

So yes, you're right about it being power hungry with LED's.

Should still be more than an hour of LED's on between batteries, which is actually a decent bit of time in a media remote.

That said, thanks for the food for thought, i'll be desoldering a few LED's now, for fun and savings :)

          Edit:

Busted out 6 LED's, give me a minute for new readings.

          1.00A red
          0.87A green
          0.84A blue

Much nicer now; its WAY less blinding, and just as clear.

Knowing aaa's are typically 1000mA cells.

          And the red led mode draws 1A;
Using blue backlighting will gain you 20% more battery life.

          Nice!

That was worth the effort :)

          • @MasterScythe: Also, I tested with 1 battery only; so 1.5v, and it worked just fine.

That said, as alkaline drops, so does the voltage.

I was considering making the batteries in parallel instead of series; but i realised thats probably not a good idea.

Because as a pair gets flat, I should be able to drain the batteries to below 0.7v per cell; truly flat alkalines.

But if i make it parallel, it might stop at 1v or so; meaning I waste a lot more of the cell.

  • Anyone know if this will work on an Xbox One S? Cheers

    • If a normal usb keyboard does; then this will too.

The host device should have no clue if its a wired or wireless KB.

      • Thanks but that was kinda what I was asking, does the One S support a USB keyboard?

        • Ill be shocked if it doesnt.

The original xbox and PS2 do! It'd be an odd feature to drop.

Its how I was so good at Halo; KB+mouse is superior to controller.
