Recomendation for Wired Xbox Controller for PC Use

Anyone have any recommendations for a quality Xbox Windows compatible controller. Son sick of the $30 eBay ones that don't last. Is it worth getting
a genuine one and if so where is the best place to getting it. Thanking all in advance.

Thanks all that commrented. Ended up getting a Microsoft wireless Xbox 1 controller with the adapter from Harris Technology. I give them the thumbs up for great CS. Ordered and it arrived the next day. Last one they had. Wasn't the cheapest, but best of the seller reviews from the ones listed in comments and my own search of that particular model.

Get a genuine xbox controller. Compatibility with windows is second to none.

Cam be had for around $50 on sale.

  • Can get genuine with adapter for about $90 so you don’t need to use wired

    • Do you have link?

      • Dont know these stores but came up in a quick search….

$79 + $1 Delivery to vic (might change if you add an addressee and not just state, 1 buck seems odd)

$74 + $8.50 No wireless adapter for windows, just wired

Love this controller. Only had crap before and the difference in the sticks is huge to me. Also it has bluetooth and you can get a clip for it that allows you to attach your phone to it which can be fun. I don't use it much but have a visitor who loves playing emulation stuff with it when he visits.

Once again, dont know these stores so cant vouch for them.

        • Which one did you love?

@Melb69: All the ones we listed here are the same 4N7-00005, just 2 had the wireless connector for windows and one has the wired addon.
I personally have the wireless connector for windows as the cable is annoying to me, but then the wired one would weigh less due to the no batteries if thats what you prefer. I use rechargeable batteries and they seem to last a while, but then I dont play much.
Just a great controller with an excellent feel to the sticks, definitely recommend.

EDIT: Oh! Just noticed the one with the wired addon is not the same and so doesnt have the bluetooth, keep that in mind.

I got this one from BIGW when it was half off for 25: https://www.bigw.com.au/product/pdp-wired-controller-for-xbo…

I am quite happy with it. I have an ebay one too and this I feel is much better.

    • How lomg have you had it for?

        Between 1 and 2 years.

  • My xbox 360 wireless for PC controller from 8 years ago is still going strong. It's just an Xbox 360 controller along with the transmitter for PC use. Don't use it much anymore because admittedly, it's d-pad is just shite and lots of my retro games use the d-pad.

Lately, whenever I need a controller for the PC, I grab my dual shock 4 and my little 8bitdo dongle that I bought for the switch. Voila, I have a dual shock 4 to use on the PC without having the futz around with wrappers and stuff. Pretty much plug and play. I just have to do the mental conversion of ABXY to Triangle, Circle, Cross, Square in a few of the games that will have xinput prompts in game.

  • I use an Xbox 360 controller to control Kodi, I just went and bought a preowned one from EBgames for like $30

  • Look what JB does now, "content guidelines" LOL:

PS.: That was for a "Xbox Elite Controller Series 2"

Good but way too expensive for what it is…

Great controller, worth $250 bucks tho? is it 2.5x better than the normal xbox controller.. I would say no… are the back buttons worth the price? no… it's a nice controller but not worth 250 dollars
