RRP is $380, but no one pays that.

Cheapest prices I have seen for these.
Linear Optical @ $229.66
Clicky Optical @ $236.57 $262.74 (increased since posted)

Plus delivery (or free delivery if you have Prime).

If you have Prime, then cheaper than Boxing Day sales. Was $249 from MS Store (which sold out previously) or $307 from JB HiFi. That was only for Clicky though. Linear was still full price.

You can also try price matching at JB HiFi. I have done so with other items on Amazon, showed them my Prime membership for free shipping too.

You can try the switches at a retail store as the box let's you try the cursor keys. We have the Clicky switches, they are very light (45g) with short actuation point (1.5m). The click is very satisfying, though are noticeably loud when typing late at night. The Linear switches are also light (45g) but have an even shorter actuation point (1.0mm), too sensitive for typing in my opinion.

OMG, should I return the unopened wireless blackwidow v3 pro which costed me $280 and get this one?!

    • go for it. saving 60$

    Got some very glowing reviews.

The linears on Tournament edition were loud as well. I think mini implemented silicone dampeners on them, but if anyone is thinking linears must be quiet… probably not on these.

I do love how it feels to type on the switches (linears). That said even resting your fingers on them can cause actuations sometimes, and that could cause bit of an annoyance. I think they should have made the actuation point slightly lower or should have used slightly heavier springs (though that I think was intentional for people who play games on these).

  • whats the difference between regular Elite and this Huntsman version?

    • The Elite version includes additional media control keys and a volume dial on top right,
the elite version also comes with a wrist rest, I liked it but ymmv

You mean like Blackwidow Elite and Huntsman Elite?

      Different tech on the switches.
Blackwidow line up uses Cherry MX style switches whereas Huntsman lineup uses something different (what they call opto-mechanical switches).

      • Expert! How many keyboards do you own

      • I cant be certain that the tech on Huntsman worth $80 more than the Blackwidow Elite which I have

        • I think it comes down to the preferences, I do enjoy my Huntsman TE and I do find it a nice keyboard.

I do like the switch and how smooth it feels, but, the actuation point being that shallow along with the keys being light can cause bit of an issue sometimes.
It was to the point where I was tempted to open up the keyboard (which I did anyways to mod the keyboard) and change each individual switch's spring to a heavier one. I couldn't find a compatible spring, so my hunt continues.

$220 is a lot of money, not my position to say whether it is worth it or not. To me it was worth the money to get a TE ($150?) since it was around Black Friday and this switch was on my list for awhile.

  • are mechanical keyboards better or worse for carpal tunnel etc ?

  • +1

Yep I got the Huntsman Elite TE edition on black friday and there have been times I think my computers glitching, opening programs, untill I realize my hand is activating keys. Feels like you could breathe on it to actuate it.

That build material though is orgasmic: slightly textured keys and the aluminum board.

Would be great for competitive fps but I'm going to keep looking while the amazon return period is still effective.

  • The elite is great. Wrist rest is good and the media voume dial is handy. overall well constructed

I got the Linear Blackwidow Elite on sale late last year, and I like that it still had the USB (which I use for my headphones). But Linear…yeah…gotta be careful with letting you hand rest on the keyboooooooooooooooooooooooooard.

  • Clicky is OOS for me? Anyone else?

EDIT: nevermind, just had to click second link
