    This really should include a Z490 board…

    • +1

Why is this? Sorry I'm novice.

      • +9

Can’t make use at all of the 10700K overclock because the B boards don’t support OC.

    • +3

Would be good to have as an upgrade option at least, if I were buying I'd be inclined to email them and ask. The CPU and ram are overkill for many gamers given the GPU and motherboard (but better GPUs are basically unavailable right now unless willing to pay through the nose)

      • +2

Why is ram overkill? Can you find cheaper 16gb kit

        • +7

Motherboard only supports 2933Mhz with an i7, and doesn't support overclocking while the CPUs advantage over the 10700 is if you want to overclock

      • +1

Pre-builts come with those notions where it's a plug and play pc tbh, and for just that it's a good deal.

    • +2

It's probably one of those supplier deals where the retailer has to take x number of mobo's for one 3000 series card.

  • How much is shipping to Perth?

  • +1

Really like the aesthetic, personally would turn RGB off but otherwise really like it

    • +9

It looks like it'll choke performance with lack of airflow though. Maybe set the RGB to a cool blue?

      • Yeah that could look ok

      • +5

The cool blue will lower the heat 😄

    • Clean but a pretty generic RGB setup I thought.

  • -4

11th gen is coming along in few days

  • I can’t see the graphics card options but my friend can

    • +9

Book in with your local GP

      • i see what you did there

  • On another note, is there any actual difference between 10700K and 10700KA besides branding?

    • +1

No, just an avengers box with a 10700K.

      • Thanks

    • +2

Was wondering the same. Bought Dells XPS on Black Friday and seems like better value😊

  • +7

I wonder if this is one of the few ways to sell off those B460 boards (they won't be able to take the intel 11th gen CPUs that have just been announced)…

    • +1

      sneaky rep haha

      • +1

lol, to be fair, it isn't just this store, the TechFast listings for intel PCs also uses B460s.

Although it's a bit of a "sucky" situation when your "upgrade" option in the deal is still B460.

    • What's that? I thought the 11th gen were going to becompatible with all 10th gen boards?

      • +2

Nope, the 11th gen intel CPUs, code name Rocket Lake, is only compatible on Z490, Q470 (enterprise/workstation), and H470 motherboards after being enabled through a BIOS update.

"…Rocket Lake will not work in H410 and B460 motherboards as these use 22nm chipsets. There appears to be some incompatibility here."

No idea if such incompatibility is technically legitimate, or just incompatible with intel's profits.

        • well that seals it, just ordered a 9600k and z390 for less than a 10400f and z490. Just did some reading and not all z490 may be compatible too, may be restricted to ones that have pcie 4.0 hardware

          • +1

@Cam44: Rocket lake (11th gen) should still be compatible with Z490 boards even if they can't do PCIe 4, they'll still work as PCIe 3.

  • +11

The Intel i7-10700KA and 3200Mhz ram are wasted on this motherboard as it does not support overclock and won't be able to handle 3200mhz ram but the price looks good.

    • +1

Would it be better if I upgraded to their better option - the Gigabyte B460M Aorus Elite?

      • +7

Nope, it won't help. You will need to upgrade to a z490 motherboard which is not available in this deal. On the other hand, you will still get great gaming performance with this machine, just that the i7 and ram could be put to better use in a better motherboard.

  • +3

B460 boards are not compatible with Rocketlake CPU's for anyone who might be wondering if they could upgrade down the track

  • No option for no windows ?

    • +1

OP said operating system was optional in the description. Does the site say something different for you?

      • +1

        Just says please select
        home or pro

        • +3

You can still add to cart without selecting, same for other options

  • +2

You might as well throw in 2666 RAM and lower the price if you're using B460 kinda defeats the purpose of having 3200MHZ

    • +4

2666mhz and 3200mhz ram are usually the same price

  • KA? Does this come with the game key?

    • No, KA just comes with Avengers box art. That's the only difference.

      • wait, they're going to send you the intel retail box along with the pre-built?

        lol

        • +1

Doubtful but i'm sure they have a hundred of them lying around if you want to request it in the order notes

  • +6

Made a pcpartpart picker for this if anyone is interested https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZDXmQD
PSU i used might be slightly more expensive but its the closest i could find, total came out as $2110.07

    • +1

So pretty much similar price as the OP listing here, as one can definitely get some discount here and there to make up the ~$200 difference (the CPU alone is $100, as KA is cheaper).

You get the computer built for you, with warranty, and definitely getting hands on a RTX 3000 series graphics card, not bad/pretty good.

    • You can knock off $100 for the CPU and maybe $40 more for the PSU.

  • +3

Sorry might not be so well informed but wouldn't the techfast deal with 10700F (with MSI cashback) be better value? I understand you can overclock this CPU to higher than the F variant but still for someone who is not going to overclock what is the benefit of this over the TechFast one?

    • +2

This system has a better cooling solution, better PSU, larger SSD and better RAM (RGB + 3200mhz) and 3 additional fan. However having the overclockable 10700k in this is pointless without a Z490 board. If they offered a z490 for this price instead of the b460 it would be a much better deal. When you factor in the upgrades and the cashback I think the techfast deal is still slightly better.

    • +1

      10700F -> 10700k (~$50)
      650W Techfast PSU -> 750W (~$50)
      256gb ssd -> 480gb (~$30)
      Fans (~$30)
Intel stock cooler -> Deepcool cooler (~$40)
Techfast ram -> BPC ram (~$30)

I think to upgrade the techfast build to what these guys are offering, you'd probably be spending an additional $230. When you factor in that the base Techfast build starts at $1928 + $230 - $150 cashback, the Techfast build ends up being slightly more expensive or on par. Haven't done any exact calculations though.

      • Thanks! On paper this deal is better but don't think all the upgrades in this deal are really worth it for me.

  • I think looking at this, motherboard is the bottleneck. Am I correct?

    • What bottleneck are you referring to though?

      • +1

That it cannot utilize the overclock fully and it cannot utilize higher RAM frequency?

        • So you mean it is a 'bottleneck' for overclocking. The current parts will still run as expected if you don't choose to overclock.

          • -1

@anarky: Except for the RAM which will top out at 2933MHz according to MB specifications. ;)

  • Seriously interested but too bad, no option to upgrade to Z490 motherboard.

    • The website shows Z490 upgrade for $250 extra. On desktop at least, mobile untested.

      • On my mobile only Gigabyte Aorus B460 available. Desktop was like that too this morning.

        ?!?!?!

  • -2

Will his be any good for crypto mining?

    • +1

If you need to ask this question my strong suggestion would be to do some more research about mining first.

      • Not sure why CY was downvoted, this is very good advice

  • Does anyone have any experience with these guys?

They seem to have a lot of quality budget options? For example:
    9400F + 1660 Super: https://www.bpctech.com.au/bpc-intel-ambient-system-v2-krake…

  • +1

    will this run Among Us?

  • They have an option to upgrade to Z490 now

    • +1

Is it on the site? I can't see it

      • It is, from the Motherboard Upgrade Option drop-down menu.

It's MSI Z490M Gaming Edge WiFi

  • nvm just saw all shipping options

  • Rep what sort of dispatch time are you expecting?

    • +1

I called them up today. They said it should dispatch within 2 business days.

  • Why do the pics of the system on their website have an MSI Mortar Max installed? Is it a stock image or something?

  • -1

Idk if the BPC rep is watching this, but any chance you could put a z490 board instead of a b460 at this price?

    • It used to be there as an option but doesn't appear for me now, I also want to know if the z490 upgrade option is still available.

  • Received my order today. Postage box had a decent ish sized hole/rip in the side of it. I was thinking the worst but everything appears to be fine, though I have not turned it on which won’t be happening until after the weekend. But all in all I am stoked with the build. Very clean cable lay out. Chunker of a cooler. Scored a Gigabyte GeForce 3070 Gaming OC which was a pleasant surprise. Lack of description had me second guessing the buy but am well stoked. As said before it hasn’t been switched on and I wasn’t planning on opening it till after the weekend but when I saw the tear I thought I should check for damage. All in all I am well happy. Recommend the rig! Thanks OP and BPC.

    • Could you send pics when you get the chance?

    • Can you please run ans share 3DMark TimeSpy on it? Would love to see the scores
