Got the 8m Optical cable and some 3m 4K HDMI cables. Brilliant, thanks!

  • Looks like these will sell out today everyone, so don't delay if you want the bargain, as 18 orders already since posting 20mins ago.

  • Thanks OP!

Similar price and spec (4K @60Hz) for these TechFlo 1.5M/3M HDMI cables

  • Any XLR cables at a cRaZee! price.?

    • We have the QED Reference 40 XLR Cables @ 30% Off atm.
Only 1 pair left in 1m and 1 pair in 3m now though.

Might not be why you're after if looking for a cheaper cable though as they are reasonably high end:
      Deal prices:
      1m: $265.30 - www.customht.com.au/products/qe3282
      3m: $349.30 - www.customht.com.au/products/qe3284

Signing up to our newsletter when prompted would get you an additional $40 off your first order over $200.

  • Thanks OP. Any Display Port cables?

    • No, they're not something we sell.

  • Don't need a special deal per se but can you recommend a speaker mount for Google Home Max? The shelf looks much too big

    • +1

      Unfortunately we don't have anything.
But maybe a floating shelf from Bunnings or Ikea could be the best option, as I'm not sure if anyone makes a specific mount for them. Not sure why they don't design those types of products with wall mounting in mind.

  • Hey im after 10m HDMI cable for my 4k projector. Am i too late?

    • +1

We only recommend running Fibre HDMI Cables with 4K projectors when the length is over 5m, as the copper cables just don't have the required bandwidth.

We use this Ruipro model in all our installs:
      https://www.customht.com.au/products/rp-hdmi-fc-10

Joing our newsletter when promoted on our site and you'll get a further $40 discount code.

      $245.65 - $40 coupon = $205.65 delivered.

Note when using them they are also directional and will only work in the one direction, so double check when installing.

  • Thanks, Looks like 4cabling has way cheaper with same spec.

That's a standard copper HDMI cable and not a Fibre Optic HDMI. A Fibre HDMI passes the video signal over Fibre Optic cores with a conversion happening in each of the connectors. This allows you to support higher bandwidths over longer distances.

We wouldn't recommend installing one of those to use with a 4K projector, which is why we stopped selling models like that, as they cause potential issues in longer lengths, especially when you're trying to view 4K@60hz, HDR type content etc, as bandwidth requirements put a lot of pressure on these type cables, as most are only tested to 18Gbps in their shorter length versions.

But if you want to use that cable, just make sure you give it a good workout before taking the time/money for someone to install it in your wall/ceiling. Also look out for potential issues with delays in the HDMI connection locking on when switching input devices etc.

  • OP knows his stuff

Maybe optic fibre will be good enough for many years, but it still might be worthwhile to run conduit first so you can more easily replace cables in walls down the road if you need to.

    • This is some great advice.

Always a good idea to run these types of cables in a conduit in case you ever need to replace them when technology changes.

Its a bit crazy to run hdmi in conduit. The plugs won't fit in 25mm so you would be looking at 32mm. Maybe in ducting.

The crazy thing is when builders think it's a good idea to install 25mm conduit in a home theatre room.
