Review wasn’t good. Lots of people complaining their phone fell off on bumpy roads on Taobao. Better to grab something holding both the top and bottom of the phone. Good price though.

DO NOT put these on a motorcycle if you value your phone. Do yourself a favour and get a Quadlock or Ram mount. (I'm a Quadlock user myself).

These things are cheap, flimsy and wouldn't stand highway speeds.

Have you got one yourself? these seem like one of the more sturdier ones to me, with a vice clamp on the side to hold it. I would imagine that makes it a lot safer than relying on the spring mechanism commonly found on mounts, to hold onto your phone.

I'm currently using this on a motorbike

Pretty safe and cheap, but it won't fit my new phone. Fits my backup phone, but overheats it on a hot day

Can't comment on the quality of the kmart one but agreed, you definitely want a zip up phone cover/mount for a motorcycle if you want to go cheap.

      • Used something similar, didn't work out well. If they're not engineered specifically for high speed motorcycle riding, I wouldn't use it.
As I said, I'm a Quadlock user, but I've heard Ram mounts go alright as well. Yes, they're more expensive, especially the Quad lock route, but you get what you pay for.

      • That's perfect, thanks for the link, was looking for something waterproof.

Does it fit your motorcycle handlebar ok? I think mine is a bigger diameter than usual.

What would also be prefect if I could easily install something to charge the phone while riding.

It sorta fits my motorbike's handlebar and it doesn't. The screw down bolt that it comes with is too small for my handlebar (it is intended for a bike after all), so I've used a zip tie in place of the bolt to tighten it. I've had it for a bit over a year now, still holds steadily.

What would also be prefect if I could easily install something to charge the phone while riding.

You sorta can with this, on my s8 plus (and you could probably do it with any phones smaller than this) I could stuff a xiaomi 10,000mah power bank underneath it. So you could route the charging cable from the power bank to the phone.

The case is a decent size, I would sometimes just use it as extra storage for things like my wallet. Though I would suggest that you detach it after using it because the see through plastic can be scuffed up. I usually store it in my trunk after use.

After reading about how vibration could damage the phone, I might stick to this since the phone has some wiggle room, so not all the shock is transferred to the phone.

    • Quadlock is also one of the only ones who are doing anything about the vibrations destroying OIS phone cameras. That being said you do need to buy the accessory.

      • True, but they've been absolutely amazing.

I find the GUB style to work well on a bicycle, including off-road.

The Baseus looks too shakey and plasticy.

  • Doesn’t look like it swivels.

  • I went from a ram x mount to the quadlock with the vibration damper and love it. Rock sold on and off road. I was never that confident with the x mount. I hated using that tether and the whole system interfered with your ability to use the phone plus it kept pushing the side buttons.
The quadlock eliminates all the issues I had with the x mount plus they are an aussie company.

This item may be ok but I don't have a phone I'm willing to risk testing it.

Hang on yes I do. Will it fit a Nokia 2110?
