    Compatible with PS5?

    • +5

Yes ive played it, but there is no ps5 updates or enhancements yet

      • +26

Probably a bit busy fixing Cyberpunk lol

      • +3

60FPS and graphical updates coming sometime later this year and free upgrade for existing users as well.

Hope they release it soon to earn some goodwill as they need it a lot now

        • +4

TBH they should probably focus first on fixing their broken game before updating their perfectly functioning one

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: Two different teams are working on it, so the Witcher upgrade wouldn't affect Cyberpunk

            • @otter-raptor: Two different teams of different sizes.. so yea, the Witcher upgrade will likely to affect Cyberpunk

  • +10

I have owned it since Day 1 and never played it…I guess if I waited this long, I might as well wait for the update.

    • +1

You're referring to the PS5 update?

      • +1

        Would assume so

  • +1

Can I buy without a console? Still waiting for PS5 restock.

    • +1

Yeah you can, I bought the uncharted trilogy for $0 last year and only got to play it when I got a PS4 recently.

  • +8

Bought & finished on Disc for PS4. One of the best games I played, after TOLU and TLOU2.
Spent the most hours on this to finish every single small aspect since I'm a completionist.
Good price, but I always prefer disc as I can resell.

Don't expect this game to brighten up your social life. You won't have one.

  • +8

Just finished the game with Xbox game pass, and agree with everyone this is a great game.

Killed close to 100 hours on it and now I felt very empty that the game has finished.

    • +2

      Erase memory, start again.

  • +1

Thanks! I had been waiting for this to go on sale.

  • I bought the disc version for $30 last week. Ah well, can't win 'em all.

I'm pumped to see it after the PS5 refresh. Hopefully they'll fix the crazy winds while they're at it…

  • Is the graphics better than HZD?

    • No. However I'd argue it is a better game. You can put in so many hours. The side quests are some of the best of any game I have ever played. At this price, it's a steal.

  • Great value for a great game. I 100% the GOTY edition last march and I firmly believe that the DLC campaigns were far superior to the main campaign.

  • +1

Beating Lysander to it, well done. Lowest price too. I've got the standard disc version so tempted for the expansions.

  • At this price with all the free content it’s a no brainer

  • I'm about 95% sure that the answer is no, but there's no fine movement or 'aiming' of sorts that would make this any better with a mouse over a thumbstick is there? Like with a ranged weapon or sign/spells etc? Been waiting for a better sale on Steam for ages but at this point and at this price I might just grab it here, especially with the upcoming PS5 upgrade in the future.

    • +2

My experience is no, crossbow has "auto aiming" so I doubt mouse has an advantage there.

      • Cool, thanks!

  • I was hanging out for the Xbox one version to come on sale as I read it runs better in the Xbox one x then it does on the ps4.

Now that I have a PS5 and a XBOX Series X I’m wondering what console would run it best again hahahaah

    The one hit wonder…

  • -5

This game is massively overrated. Be warned.

    • +2

It couldn't be more overhyped than cp2077

    • +2

I don't think it's overrated. I reckon the story is quite excellent and made me look into the books and the first two games. The combat is meh and the skill system is below average, but the story and quests more than make up for it.

      • More than the good main story, side missions kept me engaged.

  • Bummer, bought this a few months ago for about $20 more and have yet to start it. Do Sony offer refunds for games if you haven't played them?

    • +1

if you haven't downloaded, you can try. but if you have then no.

    • +1

Tried the same. Refund got rejected because it is more than 14 days from purchase.

      • Contacted them overnight. The gave me a full refund even though it was outside of the 14 days. It was actually late Nov when I made the purchase when I checked and even though I had downloaded it to the PS5 but not yet played it, they told me it wasn’t yet downloaded which was the reason for their refund.

I just got lucky I guess!

  • I want to jump in, but I do own Witcher 1 and 2, with not much time to play them. Should I just skip those two?

    • +5

I went straight into 3 and haven't felt like I've missed anything crucial

    • +1

Watch the timeline videos which include some background into the books, or just watch a 10 minute recap of the first and second games. There are some characters that show up again like Triss, Dandelion, Zoltan, Vernon, and so on. When they appeared in the third game, I was not emotionally attached to any of them. Knowing their previous relationship with Geralt makes the game feel richer. So at the very least, watch those recap vids so you at least know what the situation is with the war and the existing relationships.

    • If you already own them than may as well give them a try. At least give 2 a try as it still holds up graphically and is very similar to 3 in the way it plays.

    • Yes, especially the first 1. There's quite a few Witcher 1 and 2 story recap videos on youtube.

  • Banana tiger.

  • Can we still claim witcher PC version if we buy the PS version.

    • huh? PC version? from?

      • GOG - not sure if it's still there or not

  • Absolute Masterpiece

  • Any updates on when itll be optimised for ps5?

    • 2nd half of this year, I'd say September at the earliest

  • Great game. The only game I've played 3 times. Day 1 on PS4, GOTY on PS4, and Complete Edition on the Switch in handheld mode.
