This is similar post from last year. So I'd say the points are worth about $478.

Just a warning this card is through citibank. I know alot of people on here, avoid them.

I'd like to know why to avoid citibank?

They’re notorious for handing out rejections and long processing time.

      • citi group will also reject your application based on a previous rejection with another provider's CC that is operated by citi group. Eg I got rejected by Suncorp for this offer, have no idea why, and for the next 3 months can't apply for any other citi operated card because of Sunbloodycorp. It's super frustrating

  • there is an option to get Qantas points for spend. What about the bonus ?

  • If you currently hold a Qantas Premier card again managed by Citi, then does it make you ineligible for the offer?
Get so confused when it comes to Citi.

    • Don't worry, just because Citi manage it doesn't mean that the cards have any impact on each other.
Suncorp is a different "provider" to the Qantas premier card so you'll be fine. Although i did find if i held more than 2 cards with citi (different providers) it was almost guaranteed to get refused.

But then again they'd refuse me for no reason anyway, classic Citi antics ruining credit scores left right and centre.

Thanks mate. I’m just about to close my Qantas card and then apply…

If anyone is interested - looking into the details, I think the Citi deal via finder is a better deal.
        100k Citi Rewards point with $49 fee + $100 egifcard…

      • hmm, interesting I have Qantas premier and Kogan and got rejected by Suncorp. Maybe you are right that's the reason

  • Why does it say suncorp when is a Citigroup card. Um thanks but no thanks

  • What’s the FF conversion rate for this card?

There was a first year free option last year but I think it was limited to Suncorp customers who received e-newsletters:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/551894

Opting into Qantas FF is $49 extra, which makes it $168 and its only 0.5 pt/$ and 40k bonus points

Velocity is 2:1, so 50k bonus points at 0.625 pt $

Wonder if Suncorp will have a first year free option again.

  • Annual fee kills the deal. Also this looks like a poor mans black card hahaha
