Amazone Alexa (No bridge is required)

Not true! It always needs a zigbee-IP bridge. Some Echo devices have a built-in bridge. Most do not.

  • You are right, only the Echo Plus 2 hub has the Zigbee function

    • +1

The new Echo 4th gen has it too, but not the Dot.

  • So fully compatible with the Philips Hue app? I can control these in exactly the same way as a normal Philips Hue bulb?

    • Yes, it is fully compatible with Philips Hue App and Hue Motion sensors and Dimmer Switch.

  • What's the difference with this: https://www.lectory.com.au/12w-smart-zigbee-rgbw-led-downlig…

    Besides the brightness?

    • the 12w version come with an external driver, the 9w one has an in-build driver.

Other features are all the same.

      • Thanks.

I'm trying to figure out if I want to get 22 of these or the cheaper WiFi version when it's on sale again.

I wish I had a neutral wire so I could put in some smart switches too :( …

I wish I had a neutral wire so I could put in some smart switches too :( …

          too? You mean instead.
If you have smart lights, you use battery Zigbee switches, no neutral wire, or any other, needed.

          • @bargaino: Philips Hue Dimmer swish is a good choice.

          • @bargaino: You can't control the lights individually or setup colours if you don't have the smart lights themselves.

I want both the switch and the lights.

            • @Yanoflies: I understand that. The point is that you have no reason to want a neutral wire.
That is for people doing wired smart switches and dumb lights (so dimming control only).

      • Can you do the same discount on the 12w version?

  • To confirm, these are both RGB and can switch between Cool White / Warm White? I've been stung in the past whereby the last non Philips hue bulb I bought had RGB and Warm White, but cool white lighting was just all RGB led's turned on to make a very dim white color which makes them near on useless to me.
These ones indicate RGB CCT in the description but the specs show RGBW

    • +1

Yes, the downlight can switch between Cool White and Warm White, the full brightness under white CW/WW setting is 750ml.

They can be used as the main light source like the normal 9w downlights.

Can these be used outdoors under the house eaves?

    • +1

Yes, it can be used outdoors under the Eaves.

  • Will these work in HomeKit through a Hue Hub (HomeKit version)?

  • It's crazy how much smart home stuff costs.

$40 for a light bulb, and that's a 'deal', madness

  • Hi there,

What is the diameter of the face of the light?

I have 90mm cutout and my existing dumb lights have a diameter of approx 113mm. See the following image for reference:

Do you recommend the light in subject? I will be swapping 6-10 of them.

    TIA.

  • Any promotion on 12w?
    Will this work with deconz?

  • 12w Zigbee downlight is not on special at the moment.
Yes, this 9w Zigbee RGBW downlight works with Deconz.

  • Can you do a deal on the WiFi ones too?

  • 12W from Nue on Amazon is $48:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07KWXFDQC/ref=twister_B07ZM7X5…

9W from Nue on ebay is $39.50:

I guess I will order those instead.
