Apple has heavily discounted it's professional DAW programme Logic 9 from $749 to $209.99, available from the app store only. Apple Logic 9 is a powerful DAW programme used by musicians, producers and composers. For any Garageband users, I would consider purchasing this product. This is an amazing deal considering Apple Logic 9 express (entry level version)retails for $299.
Only downside is the free 'optional' pack is a 19GB download and MainStage 2 has to be purchased separately for $31.99, however not a big deal when you are saving over $500.

      No, but if you were looking to step up from GarageBand to logic I'd recommend an audio interface

    I remember paying $1500 for Logic 7 only about 5 or so years ago.

    $200 is an amazing price. Logic will be a steep learning curve if you're upgrading from GarageBand. It is a truly "pro" app.

    Don't forget you can purchase from the Mac App Store using iTunes gift cards, which are very often on sale (anywhere from 20% to 50% off). Logic for ~$150 is an amazing price.
