Really happy to buy from Officeworks as I personally prefer local suppliers, not a big fan of Amazon :)

Keep in mind that you also need to have devices that support Wi-Fi 6 to avail the full features and cost of this router

    • Or at least be part of the Borg.

    More Decepticon routers…

At this price, wouldn't it be better off waiting for triple band routers to become more mainstream soon?

    • Aren't triple band routers more suited to households with alot of devices, I would have thought that dual band routers are more than enough for the average consumer?

    This comes with UK adapter.

    • I will let you know once it is arrived. Most likely AU stock with AU power adapter.

PS: If you wish to use genuine AU power adapter that alone cost $30+

      • I ordered mine from Officeworks and it came with a range of plug heads- US (by default), UK, India, AU and EU.

XIAOMI AX6000 on Aliexpress for $160~ish is a much better deal

      Amazon warranty vs Aliexpress warranty
      Asus firmware support vs Xiaomi
Personally I would pick the Asus one. Better firmware support although this model doesn't have Merlin firmware. Also I found WTFast VPN work for me, have been using it since 2010 to play FFXIV on JP server.

      • Good to meet a ffxiv player. I thought AU to Japan connection is simple and straight forward? I often get ~116ms here in brisbane, using a vpn doesn't get me any better

        • I'm in Sydney. With Optus I used to get 200ms ping, with Telstra and ABB it's around 140ms ping. Throw in VPN brought it down to around 120ms ping and does make it different enough for smooth gameplay.

I read about this router if you are using standalone than it is great if you use mesh network then it uses WIFI6 to pair with other routers and it literally becomes dual band as one band is already used to communicate with nearby routers.

  • waiting for WIFI 6E router

    • I'm waiting for 6F

      • I'm waiting for 7A

          Just waiting for a mate

          • @qtmai: M8? It'll take years to get there.

    • No use m8
the AC WiFi 5 (WiFi speed as per reviews is pretty decent) hence i bought it. I got many devices with WiFi 5 card and this router future proof me - at least for 5 years then buy a powerful Asus router and use this as secondary along with AiMesh.

They matched an international price? That's lucky surely.

Not to mention, I wouldn't buy overseas routers anyway.

    • Officeworks they do price match Amazon AU, Happy to give my money to Officeworks than AMZ.

  • Looks like a Lamborghini.

I purchased this in the previous deal. My personal experience has been positive. Router has been rock solid. Although I'm not a power user, and hardly ever mess with the settings. Just in case anyone cares….

  • (EDIT, sorry it is but you need to buy two to get the $120) Be mindful this is not part of the current cashback offer.

When you want your router to look like Black Manta

  • I bought one last year. No WiFi 6 devices, but I bet in 2 years or so it'll be mainstream. As for my other devices, speeds and reception are good. The UI is great. I chucked my Testra Smart Modem back in the box and put it away. This gives you much better reporting on your devices and tells you which device is uses the most data and where it's accessing. Most people won't need stuff like that.

The LED thing is unnecessary, but the kid loves it. I turn it on now and again for fun.

And yes, it uses the UK power brick and it does not come with an adapter. Mine didn't anyway. I had spares at home so it wasn't a problem for me.
