Noctua NH-D15 Chromax All-Black Premium Quiet Intel & AMD CPU Cooler Dual 140mm Fans $178.65 + Delivery @ Computer Barn

48

The NH-D15 chromax.black is an all-black version of Noctua’s award-winning flagship model NH-D15 premium-quality quiet CPU cooler. Thanks to the same proven dual-tower heatsink design and NF-A15 PWM fans, it stays true to the NH-D15’s successful formula of rivalling the performance of all-in-one water coolers while maintaining superb quietness of operation. At the same time, the chromax.black version with its black fans and black coated heatsink combines these assets with a sleek stealth look. Topped off with the renowned SecuFirm2™ multi-socket mounting system, Noctua’s enthusiast-grade NT-H1 thermal compound and a full 6-year manufacturer’s warranty, the NH-D15 chromax.black is a deluxe choice for both overclockers and silent enthusiasts who seek an elite-class heatsink that looks just as great as it cools.

chromax.black design
The NH-D15 chromax.black is black from head to toe: Featuring a black coated heatsink, black fans with black anti-vibration-pads, black fan clips and black mounting parts, it’s right at home in all-black builds and easy to integrate with other colour schemes.

6 heatpipe dual tower design
As compared to conventional single tower heatinks, the NH-D15's fine-tuned six heatpipe dual tower design provides more surface area, better heat-distribution and superior airflow efficiency in dual fan mode.

Widened fin stack and expanded heatpipe layout
Compared to the NH-D14, the NH-D15's fin-stack has been widened from 140 to 150mm and its heatpipes are now spaced further apart, which allows for a more uniform heat distribution over a larger surface area and thus contributes to the NH-D15's superior efficiency.

High RAM compatibility in single fan mode
Thanks to its recessed lower fins, the NH-D15 provides 64mm clearance for tall memory heatsinks in single fan mode, making it compatible with most high end RAM modules on the market. In dual fan mode, the NH-D15 should be used with standard height RAM (up to 32mm).*

Dual NF-A15 140mm fans
The NH-D15 features two of Noctua's premium class NF-A15 140mm fans. Complying with Noctua's AAO standard and featuring sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A15 has quickly built up a reputation as one of the best 140mm fans on the market.

PWM support and Low-Noise Adaptors
The NF-A15 premium fans supplied with the NH-D15 support PWM for convenient automatic speed control through the motherboard. In addition, the maximum fan speed can be reduced from 1500 to 1200rpm using the supplied Low-Noise Adaptors for even quieter operation.

SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system
Noctua’s SecuFirm2™ mounting systems have become synonymous with quality, safety and easy installation. Supporting Intel LGA1200, LGA115x (LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155, LGA1156) and LGA20xx (LGA2066, LGA2011-0, LGA2011-3), as well as AMD AM4, AM3(+), AM2(+), FM2(+) and FM1, the SecuFirm2™ mounting included with the NH-D15 is straightforward to install, provides perfect contact pressure and will stand the test of time even under heavy use..

Soldered interface between heatpipes and fins
With many heatsinks, the fins are press-fitted to the heatpipes. Due to the different thermal expansion coefficients of copper and aluminium, this fit can loosen over years of thermal cycling, which may lead to reduced performance. By contrast, the NH-D15’s fins are soldered to the heatpipes in order to guarantee a superior thermal interface that doesn’t deteriorate even after many years of usage.

6-year manufacturer’s warranty
Noctua products are renowned for their impeccable quality and outstanding longevity. Like all Noctua fans, the supplied NF-A15's feature an MTTF rating of more than 150.000 hours and the entire NH-D15 package comes with a full 6-year manufacturer's warranty.

    $148 delivered from Newegg.

Buy a big case and a full size ATX mobo. This cooler gives me the shits while I try and navigate around it to plug stuff in.

  • +4

No doubt it's great cooler and worth the price, just saying, the cooler is same price range as my ryzrn 1600 af lol.

The Newegg ones ships from Taiwan. This is Australian stock…ships from Brisbane.

But this is OzB… all about getting the best deals… not OzStock…

    • +1

probably take 3 x as long to arrive then…

      • +2

My last experience, they use DHL to dispatch my Noctua case fans. Very speedy, even beat AusPost eParcel speed…

        • +2

when i bought something from taiwan it took 3 days to get delivered. from brisbane it took 2 weeks

  • +2

    I don't see this as a deal.

I've had Noctua send me 3 separate items from its Newegg store (Taiwan). All arrived within a week.

    DHL is extremely efficient.

Perhaps for local warranty support, maybe. But it's Noctua. They are essentially bulletproof. It's a downvote for me.

Yes I hope you will appreciate that is not possible for an Australian based local business to match prices for products that are shipped directly from Taiwan. If the custom duty at the port and GST will be charged from such grey imports the price will be higher.

So for products shipped from within Australia from a local business offering full 6 years warranty. This is a pretty good deal @ Computer Barn

      • Yeah nah

      • +2

kind of just hearing complaints, I think you should ask your distributor asking why the price is so high for their stock. Newegg does charge for GST btw. Just FYI

      • +1

        This is OzBargain, not OzAdvertising.

      • +1

Even you if you apply GST and the custom duty to Newegg price it is still cheaper than your offer, so do not blame it on grey imports

      • Summary: SE has it for $179 Delivered. Add to cart and it will apply a code automatically. Negging this one.

Long version: Computer Barn in all fairness has made some valid arguments above. You do get 6 years warranty, but I think people on Ozbargain don't care as much when there is a significant 16.66% savings to be had. Warranty is more of a problem for items with average or above-average failure rates (like Logitech mice with their switches), even then if a product was defective, it would most likely show within the first few hours of turning it on, which in that case you can return to Newegg in 30 days (I am assuming). I understand why a business may advertise their 'deal', however doing so on Ozbargain while not being a deal, especially when you have made such aggressive arguments, will only spark backlash, especially that SE has it for $179 Delivered. You need to understand a community before advertising in such. So, a neg is going on this one.

Not much can go wrong with a cooler, especially a Noctua. Ordering from Taiwan is a pretty safe bet.

    • Unless you're build can't fit it in. This thing is HUGE.

      • Yes it is huge. The max height is in the mentioned in the specs for any prospective buyer to make sure it will fit in their casing.

  • +3

Bought this from Newegg for ~100 dollars earlier this year on sale, regular price appears to be about ~150 delivered. This is not a deal whatsoever. I find it massively frustrating that OzBargain gets used as a free advertising board when there is obviously no bargain to be had.

    • but the site makes money though fewer people bother to post bargains….

  • SE has it for $179 Delivered. Add to cart and it will apply a code automatically, also you can even select shipping with insurance for free. No deal here.

  • I just installed one of these in my new computer. It was so much bigger than I expected. I was going to get a be quiet Dark Rock Pro 4, and I'm a bit disappointed I didn't wait for them to come back instock as their a little more compact and look better IMO.

  • Press F to pay respects. Do these sellers even check the market?

    • its a government controlled market, totally anti-consumer, designed to favor american companies, who still gouge us.
