Cashback Forum

A thought for the OzBargain team. How about a forum topic under Cashbacks for all other cashbacks or coupons so they can be tracked? I think forums is a good place for them rather than the main site. At the moment cashback is just moneybackco/starthere - but there's all those manufacturer discounts and offers that don't really fit anywhere.

It can include links to the redemption form or site, expiry dates, terms and conditions, etc.

It's often hard to find on a manufacturers site how you redeem, or you go in store and the retailer knows nothing about any promotion. And cashbacks aren't really bargains, it's just the icing on the bargain cake :-)

    It's tempting to sign up to such a forum, but if it isn't popular will I get my cash back?

      Nothing to do with the forum. It's those manufacturer cashback offers that you see from time to time.

    So it's s forum for members to track various cash back/rebates from the merchants? What are the example topics that might be in this forum?

      Cashback on purchases, so may be merchant or manufacturer. I don't think these qualify as bargains, they're only bargains if bundled with something else. Like the HN price error the other day on the kinect.

        I've seen lots of people talk about the LG cashback. But no one points out it's limited qantity and you should check to see if it is still available.

        So another example:

        Topic: Up to $300 cashback on LG 3DTV (Limited claims)

        Expires: 24/12/11 or until available offers are claimed

        Claim online at: http://www.lg.com/au/promotions/3d-tv-promo/index.jsp

        Receipt, barcode needed.

        Redemptions close: 13/01/12

    i reckon we give it a go. i have a redemption via Samsung and thier larger fridges, for a $250 movie voucher. not sure if anyone else is in the same boat, been a month and still says 'registered'

      I think that's the other good thing. How many times have we had threads with "Has anyone got the blah cashback yet". People could post this under the original cashback thread.

    I like the new forum. It would be good to be able to set expiry date as well, but at the moment I guess we can just edit the title and description.
