yeah i have a pair connected to TV, great for its price, can't complain much at this price point

      • Worth paying the extra for the R1700BT?

        • +1

Are these good to plug into a tv?

          • +1

@j-rock: So far so good for me, been using with my tv for 3 yrs now… Way better than my tv built in low power speakers

  • S2000MKIII for $376.83 is another amazing deal. Got mine also from wireless 1 for $391.20 in October and love them.
(I see they are also $376.66 from Harris Technology)

    • Would you recommend these for a desktop PC?

      • +1

I'm no audio expert but if you have the space for them then yes I would recommend :) just check the dimensions as they could be quite bulky for many desktop set-ups

  • R1280DB or R 1700 BT ? to go with TV as alternative to soundbar

    • +1

R1700BTs and get a Subwoofer to go with it.

      • Any suggestions for subwoofer ?

        • +1

FYI - The 's' in the model number stands for Subwoofer.
Meaning you can connect a Subwoofer to them.

If it's a small office or room, I think you can start with any 8 inch Subwoofer. A recommendation would be the audioengine S8 subwoofer. Or checkout out second hand ones on gumtree.

For a bigger room or lounge would recommend a 10 or 12 inch sub. Whatever fits within your budget.

With this setup you'll be way better off than with a soundbar.

    • +1

If you're planning to use a sub, make sure it's the R1700BTs, since the older R1700BT doesn't have sub out

      • Can I confirm that the speakers actually power the sub, or does the sub need to be powered by itself?

        • +1

Needs to be powered by itself. The cable which connects the speakers to the subwoofer is an auxiliary 3.5mm cable out of speakers into sub's RCA L/R ports.

    Nice. Thanks OP

Can you pair R1700 with a soundbar to work as rear speakers?

  • Edifier R1280DB - I use this for my PC, amazing for its price.

  • +2

Thanks OP. I cancelled my R1280DB order (preordered from Amazon) and bought this instead.

  • Good find. Have the 1700's as computer speakers. Great audio at that price

  • Oh crap - bought R1280DB from Wireless site yesterday for 123$ :-(

    • Can probably still sell them at a profit on ebay and buy these.

  • Would I be able to run two sets of rb128's simultaneously, linked to the same Bluetooth source?

    • +1

If you have a device that can transmit to 2 sources at once. My samsung note 10+ can

      • Cheers, thank you!

  • does anyone know how to make ebay plus only deals no to appear on homepage?

  • Can someone please tell me what's the difference between the below two links? They are both R1700. One says Brand New the other one doesn't? Is this to do with the subwoofer output?

Any deals on floorstanders and/or centre speakers please?

  • Would anyone recommend the R1280DB Speakers as pc speakers, and can it cable coonnect to it as well? Sorry im not so great with computers/speakers. I have no idea about all those connection it just listed in the description. Thanks!

    • +2

Yes, definitely recommend. If you're coming from having no external speakers, you will love the R1280DB. The required cables come in the box with the speakers. Not sure what computer/desktop you have, but you should have hat you need.

      • Thanks so much, really excited now. I should be able to figure it out haha :)

  • Neat. Bought some Edifier R1700BT Speakers for the computer.

  • Any deals on the Edifier R1700BTs?

  • +1

Why does edifier make so many different models of speakers in a relatively narrow price range? Speaking atiund 90 to 120 dollars.

  • Just tried applying the afterpay code PAPDY20 and afterpay method to the Sony wh-1000xm4.. brings them down to $300. hmm

My bose QC25 still work fine but the cable is a bit annoying these days esp as the phone doesn't have a 3.5mm jack. Ok for the odd flight and none of the in-ear isolating/ANC earphones work for me. Mainly wanted some for calls/music but these and the sonys are probably a bit bulky. Would be good for flying and commutes, may be a bit closed in for teams etc

The airpods 2 are still tempting but sound quality takes a hit when using on Android. AptX is better than aac.

    Cheers
