Can I cancel the plan after 1 month or transfer to different network provider after a month?

    • Yes, I second this. Is it just like Kogan (a 1 month throw away SIM)?

    • You can cancel anytime you want

  • Any fee to port in / port out?

  • I haven't done so myself, and got no business to do withe these guys,
Just got a bit of down time to look up the t&c cos I had similar questions too,

    https://yomojo.com.au/assets/pdf/terms-policy/general_terms.…
It answers in one point 14. As at 1 May 2020.
So I think yeah, it's like the Kogan $5 sims

    14. CANCELLING YOUR SERVICE

    14.1. How to Cancel

14.1.1. You have the right to cancel your Service at any time. If you wish to cancel your
Service, you must contact us in writing or via telephone.

14.1.2. When using email, there may be a delay between your initial cancellation
request and our receipt of your confirmation which then allows us to cancel.
Throughout this period, relevant charges will continue to apply.

14.1.3. A service is not considered cancelled until we confirm with you via email that
the service has been successfully cancelled.

14.1.4. For Prepay Services, any remaining Excess Credit and/or unused plan
allowance will be forfeited once the service has been cancelled or ported to
    another service provider.

14.1.5. For Monthly Billing Services, unused plan allowance will be forfeited at the
time of cancellation. A final invoice will be sent on the next billing cycle and
must be paid to finalise the process. Up to two further invoices may be issued
after the cancellation of a service for delayed charges such as international
    roaming and other third-party charges.

14.2. Porting Your Mobile Number out of Yomojo

14.2.1. When we receive a request from another carrier or service provider to port out
your mobile number, provided the authenticity of such a request can be
validated, we will process this request in the same manner as a request for
cancellation of a Yomojo Service. In this case, your mobile number will not be
lost but will be released to the gaining carrier.

14.2.2. All other conditions of service cancellation as per this section apply.

    • Wait, so if you cancel, they terminate your plan immediately? You can't use the rest of the month? Is there a way to turn off auto-recharge alternatively?

Why is it like the Kogan SIMs? - Sorry for all the questions, pretty new to SIM churning.

      • Sorry mate, I don't know what happens to the rest of the credits when you cancel the service.
There's no way to turn off the auto recharge. therefore below users suggested to use a prepaid credit card with low balance when you don't want to spend more, or buy a Kogan/Telstra/Voda/Optus sim and port out form these guys.

  • $20 Referral Credit for Referee/Referrer… anyone on the list please?

    • +1

      Use random referral

    • Note: Referrals requite response from the Ozbargainer. Some may not be available at the moment to provide referral. So may take time to respond.

      • My apologies to any referrers…

Impulse buying kinda got me and our lovely "the INFIDEL" DMed me a referral…

  • +1

Last month I signed up with a random referral, no credits appeared after one month on 70gb plan, so ported out to Kogan!

    • You should have asked for referral credit to be added. That was recommended in a comment in that Deal.

$20 appeared in account hours later:

Email to Ozsale: (10 Mar 2021, 10:06 am)
I haven't yet received the $20 referral credit promised at the sign up.
Please credit my & my friend's account with the referral credit.

      Support@Ozsale: (10 Mar 2021, 6:20 pm)
Sorry to know that it wasn't applied on the account.
We've already processed the $20.00 on both accounts.

That's a lot of Data for 30 days!
      Whats a Gigabyte Surprise $251.40??

        • +1

          No just $20 per account.

          • @INFIDEL:

New customers only, must activate by 4th May 2021

Checkout wants to activate the SIM…

Any way to delay the activation?

            • +1

@NGPriest: There is an automated activation process - you select the date via your account & they remind you.

But to get this Deal - will need to be Activated by that date.

              Sent a PM

              • @INFIDEL: Your service(s) will be activated on 19-Mar-21, however you can activate sooner via your Dashboard or by getting in touch with our Customer Service team.

                • @NGPriest: I'm now in the dashboard…

And it was stupid i called every SIM/account/etc NGPriest's Mobile.

Any way i can rename all my SIM's? :S

                  • +1

@NGPriest: Ive only got 1 SIM - so no idea about names for SIMs.

                • +1

@NGPriest: Ozsale send an email after SIM is sent, asking if you want to automatically activate on the set date.

Easy to set another date in dashboard.

                  • @INFIDEL: I pushed it back to 26th April 20201.

Was hoping to push it back to 4th May and push it forwards when i need to activate them… :S

                    • +1

                      @NGPriest: Should be no issue.

But activation happens when they get around to it on the set date.
Had expected early in the morning - no mid afternoon for me.

Can still request activation via the dashboard.

                      • @INFIDEL: Automated? Or manual (meaning i need a staff to be working?)

                        • +1

                          @NGPriest: Manual
                          Service & activated by Yatango.
                          So check their hours.

Click on Activate in Dashboard. (From memory)

My set date was a Saturday. Weekdays may be better.

                      • @INFIDEL: I think they process the activation and renewal at around mid afternoon (2pm?). I had no data until it renewed in the afternoon so don't think that you have to used up all data by midnight.

                        • @jackofspade: Hi JoS.
Vodafone SIM expired midnight day before. Had hoped Ozsale SIM would be automatically working when I woke next morning. Was without phone & internet until afternoon.

                          Yes around 2pm AEDT.

If I'd known, I would have clicked Activate the night before (new number, not porting). May have been active in the morning.

Was trying to get the most out of my "expensive" SIMs😊

Ah yes, there is a processing fee.

        • If i bought it one at a time, do each account (and referrer) get $20? :S

          • +1

@NGPriest: You may not be seen as a new member after the first purchase!
As referral credit has required contacting Ozsale to add it (did for me) - doubt it.

Still in Sunnybank? We were chatting years ago before the first Ozbargain meet.

            • @INFIDEL: Yes, still in Sunnybank.

We need to get Neil or someone to set up another meetup :p

              I used/burnt 500GB on Optus and had to activate a Kogan 40GB SIM every 1-2 days…

Edit: Maybe ask them nicely for $120 referral? :p

              • @NGPriest: Last years meet was cancelled.
There were meets for Ozbargain birthday for 3 years before that. Free food & drinks at a restaurant.

That is a lot of Data!

              • +1

@NGPriest: There are t&c on their site regarding referral credit. Was discussed last Deal.

Experience in last Deal with these type of issues with a minor service provider Ozsale - staff give conflicting advice via chat. I emailed questions to get a better response.

      • That's a lot of sims to use in the next 2 months. 420GB. You using this in place of NBN?

  • Uses Optus 4G provided via Yatango.

  • do you need to provide a credit card for auto renewal (I know you can cancel it but do you need to supply one during activation)?

EDIT: Says you have to select whether to port number or get a new number at checkout. Does it activate right away? I prefer to decide that stuff later when it's time.

decided not to port my number. Too scared of something going wrong at a new telco I haven't heard of.

New customers only, must activate by 4th May 2021

It allowed me to change the activation date to June. What will happen? Will it work still?

    • Debit/credit card is required for activation and renewal

      • can I remove the card details to prevent auto renewal?

  • I used the random referral link yesterday. However no response. Could anyone please message me a referral code?

    • You need to enable messaging in your account

      • Thanks! Just changed the default settings one min ago.

  • is this prepaid or a credit check done for on a plan?

  • Could anyone remind me of the referral credit - cannot use it for mobile plan fees payment, right?

    • +1

Paying plan fees are the main use for referral credit. Others paid for next months fee with it.

  • Does anyone know how to delete credit card details on OzSale Mobile portal? I cannot find the delete option…(only "change details" option for credit card details)

    • i think it's one of those telcos who depends on you forgetting to port out before the end of the month, and then bills you. You can't cancel and leave your account without credit, parking your number there until another deal happens and you can port out. To port out you would need to pay any outstanding bills. Smaller telcos like Belong do this.

The only way to prevent getting billed for another month would be to remember to port out before the 30 days are up.

I regret buying the sim cards now.

    • +1

What happens if I have insufficient funds or my payment fails on my renewal date?
We will try to renew your plan again at 7 PM AET so please make sure that you have sufficient funds in your card or that you have updated your new card on the Dashboard before then. Otherwise, your plan will not renew and will be removed by 10 PM AET. Your outgoing service will resume once you successfully purchase a new plan.

I simply changed to a prepaid debit card with $1 balance.

      • That is what i am considering.
But should take payment from any referral credit first.

      • Where can i get a prepaid debit card with $1 balance?

        • coles, woolworths, postoffice etc, buy a $50 visa/master card and spend $49.

          • @1-Bargain: do they charge a fee for the card? Is it reloadable?

            • @lostn: See the Deals - costs about $5.95 more than the value on the card. Popular when there are loyalty points for buying the card.

Easier the way I've suggested below with free virtual Visa Debit card, no fees & free $10! All online.

        • +2

          Easiest way…
          And you receive $10 free!
          No cost, no fees.

FREE reloadable Visa Debit card with $10 on it!
Use their code LP2021 for the free $10.
(Referral system isn't working yet. That's what confused people in the Deal. They didn't receive $10 using other's referral codes.)

          Got one in minutes online.
You can then transfer most funds to your bank account (confirm it's easy - just did it), leaving almost nothing on card.

Just added that card to Ozsale account - no problems.

          • @INFIDEL: What name do you use or the card?

            Limited Use? :p

            • @NGPriest: Banks don't check name on card. Virtual Visa Debit cards don't have name.
Used my name. Accepted by Ozsale.

Handy for online purchases & Ozsale!
The account has BSB & Account number for slow transfers

No fees & free $10 is a nice bonus 💰

              • @INFIDEL: I got a "There seems to be a problem with our system, please refresh the page or contact us." on ozsalemobile… :S

          • @INFIDEL: If I understand you correctly, you can take the free $10 and transfer it to your bank account?

            • @lostn: Yes - free money Deal which works!
              Only can sign up once.
Very handy in this Deal so you don't get charged more than expected.

Just did a test transfer of $1 - waiting to go into bank account. Then transfer more.

Also a survey Deal. Received $5.
And in future, you can earn $10 from each referral!

              • @INFIDEL: I just signed up but could not find anywhere to enter that $10 code. Is it in the app after you've created your account?

                • @lostn: I signed up 2 weeks ago - can't remember.

Best to read instructions in Deal.
Sign up to a new LifePay account (using referral code) via iOS or Android app, and then KYC (verify identity with Drivers License No or Passport No etc).
Once automatic account setup is complete and identity verified, apply for either a free virtual or free physical card (in the wallet area of the app).
$10 Credit is automatically applied to your account.

                  • @INFIDEL: I try to complete my registration but all I get when I hit Finish is a spinning wheel, then it cancels.

It said it needed to verify my email address but they never sent the verification email. It's not in spam folder.

            • @jackofspade: Good idea.
Had forgotten about that free $15 MC Deal.
Spend most of balance & add as CC in account.

I have added the free $10 LifePay to account with only $1 on it.

  • After sign up, their email came in and saying 'Your service(s) will be activated on 27-Mar-21, however you can activate sooner via your Dashboard or by getting in touch with our Customer Service team.'.

Who in the right mind consider their own 'assigned activation' system with their own choice works well?
This will end up with every new customer contacting them to change this to their own preferred date.

Never heard of this weird system and it seems like a bad customer account management.

And I will probably won't 'authorise' port out request by not replying their text verification request during sign up until the day I want to port in. They won't be able to do anything without it.

    • +1

Its just different, & an option.

I set to activate a month later, which effectively removed (postponed) that option.

Different companies handle the process differently.
Amaysim sends out their SIMs preactivated, which doesn't suit everyone. If someone else gets your SIM - they can use it! And it needs resetting to date of first use (now automatic, but used to cause issues).I preferred this way.

      No need to contact them!
Just change the date on the account dashboard (as they suggest) to a later date, & click activate when you're ready like normal.

They email reminders to activate, so setting a much later date avoids those.

  • Can I churn from Amaysim to this? Someone previously mentioned it's now okay to churn between Vodafone MVNOs (eg Vodafone & Kogan). Has Optus also improved in terms of churning within the same network?
