It's not touchscreen. convertible laptop with no touchscreen….hmm

      • +1

It is not a convertible laptop though. Very strange use of the Yoga subbrand.

        • +5

oh you're right! screen only opens to 180 degrees (flat).

This Yoga's yoga capabilities are about as good as mine lol

      • No fingerprint laden display? Good!

        • can't tell if you're serious but I'll respond anyway - yes they collect fingerprints but a) you get a huge extra funcionality, and b) you need to keep your devices clean anyway.

Just because you can't see fingerprints on a device doesn't mean it's clean.

          • @andresampras:

            a huge extra funcionality

Yeah, nah. WIndows touch experience does not offer anything huge.

            • @daitro: ….for you, in your opinion. For a lot of other people, BIGLY 'UGE functionality that once experienced it's not nice to not have.

    • +1

Not yuck if you WFH on a boat (also white in colour) and wear matching boat shoes

    Keyboard is slightly mushy

So would you say it's leaning towards medium rare or medium?

  • +1

From what I can tell, this is only 1kg??

      From Lenovo:

      Weight
      Starting at 966 g

Gets heavier as the SSD fills up.

  • ram + ssd soldered ?

    • +1

SSD is replacable. Ram is soldered but 16gbs should be more than enough for most people.

  • Thunderstorm port?

    • +5

      Only slight drizzle port.

      • +3

Partly cloudy with a chance of showers port

        • +1

You must have gotten the upgrade.

  • God damn

    ebay listing has been pulled

  • On eBay "3 Sold, More than 10 available".

    Go to purchase… "Unavailable".

    OzBargained?

  • Managed to get one from Ebay, was 2nd sold..hope they don't cancel me.

  • This was also on Amazon a few days ago for similar price

  • You could try gunning for the 5% from Officeworks, but I feel guilty every time I do that:

Feel guilty getting ow to pricebeat?

That's grounds for demerits in your ozb membership.

      • I'm just sayin'… they're working there earning a buck too. Skimming their margins for a pricebeat policy bargain, to me is the same as eating into their store performance and worker bonus - that's all.

Covid is making me appreciate workers more. Some more than others.

        .
        .
        .

Although they're Westfarmers, so I guess they're swimming in money.

        • are you sure the store people get bonuses? i doubt it

    • I called OW Southport 4215,
they said OW doesn't price beat Bing Lee due to warranty or some bs

      • You sir got played. Ow pricebeat binglee for me everything. Then again could be states related.

        • Yeah, sounds like some bs. I'm going to go into the store closer to me. I will report back with my results.

          • @[Deactivated]: Just reporting back. Apparently there are only 5 left in Queensland. They did the price beat over the phone. 1 star Google review for the Southport store incoming.

      • just got it price beaten on the phone - called OW online, not a specific store

        • Can you pay by officeworks gift card over the phone?

  • Excellent value; is it still available?

I might buy one and take it to New Zealand in a couple of weeks time and get the GST back #winning

    • Make sure there's 2 of you travelling as this laptop price exceeds the cap for a single adult traveller.

"If you return to Australia with goods for which you have claimed a GST refund under the TRS on departure, you must declare those goods at Question 3 on the Incoming Passenger Card (IPC) if their value exceeds the passenger concession of AUD900."

"GST refunds received on goods exceeding the passenger concession will have to be repaid if the items are brought into Australia."

      • Yes thank you for the reminder, my wife will be travelling as well.

I think OW might be able to price beat it. Lets see.

        • +1

Unfortunately some people got this in their head that if they don't declare it no one is the wiser. Or that they got away with not declaring it last. So why not again right. These people are the reason why we can't have nice things.

      • 1 product (and the gst) can be split between 2 travellers??
or do you mean, give the laptop to your travelling partner?

        • You can pool your trs quota together. So 2 adults have an $1800 quota. $900 each but border force can treat it as one so a passenger can bring back an item over their $900 trs quota. But obviously not over the total quota of the travellers combined.

          • @xoom:

So 2 adults have an $1800 quota. $900 each but border force can treat it as one so a passenger

awesome to know, thanks. a bit dodge they have that discretion

    • Am dumb, sorry i thought if you were returning you couldn't claim TRS? only if you were going one way?

am going to NZ in 2 months, so within the 60 days curious to know? thanks!

      • +1

You can bring back anything to the value of $900 that you claimed trs on.

        • Thank you, so if >$900 I can't claim only 900 (have to claim full amount if alone?), therefore only <$900 items I wont have to repay?

          sorry am big dumby

          • +1

@blinkybro: If it's over $900 then if you claimed trs. You will have to payback the trs if you return with said item. It's mentioned in the incoming passenger card when you return to Australia. It asks you. Did you claim trs on anything above $900

So if you are returning with that item better not bother claiming trs.

            They check the receipts.

            • @xoom: Okay thanks, legend clearly understand now :) ripppp, cant claim a laptop then ;(

              • +1

@blinkybro: You can if there's two of you travelling. You can pool together your trs quota. $900 each per adult traveller.

Say you bought this laptop. You still got the remainder from $1800 - cost of laptop.

                • @xoom: Yah, am travelling alone but thanks will keep that in mind for future, thanks for taking th time to explain to me!

  • OW via phone confirmed $1367.05, they have 8 in stock…

I am after a touch screen for the kid but this one is not …

  • This one or XPS (when Dell have a deal) ?? Thanks
