Ordered the Samsung Galaxy Note from them > 3weeks ago and they still have not shipped.

Again, the Galaxy Note deal is a totally unrelated matter.

        • +6

Same company, same lies and deceit.

      • +3

I got my Note 3 days after order.

Ordered over $4k worth of stuff from them. Wouldn't hesitate to order another $4k worth.

      • I ordered mine one 4/1, backordered, back in stock on 9/1, got mine galaxy note on the 12/1.

Is it because you ordered it when it is $599? mine is $649!

        • +2

Should the price matter? You make an order on good faith that goods will be delivered.

Ordered on 21st and still waiting. Have been lied to by the company constantly with phantom stock updates.

I had same issue with them with my note order on 22nd December, they even got stock in but wouldn't send my note because it was at a lower price point from another supplier who was on holidays till end of Jan, when I asked to speak to the manager I was put through to a number that rang out every time. They also ignored all my emails. I cancelled my order and bought a galaxy nexus from Allphones with the $200 off voucher and it arrived next day. Now that's service.

Looking around the net, DWI seems very dodgy, and slow to deliver.

  • Mostly I am hoping that this will drive down the price of the Galaxy S2. Although the Galaxy Nexus has ICS on it currently, that will come soon for the SGS2 and for the most part it's hardware is better than the Nexus. Here's hoping anyway.

    • Well galaxy S2 price has actually increased recently; all because google was too stupid to offer a genuine upgrade to S2 in the form of this phone.

Although the Galaxy Nexus has ICS on it currently, that will come soon for the SGS2 and for the most part it's hardware is better than the Nexus.

For the most part, their specs are pretty similar actually. The main differences being that the SGS2 has a better camera, and a micro-SD slot; whereas the GNex has a much higher resolution display (which is also slightly larger physically as well) and all models have NFC (only some models of the SGS2 have NFC). Also, while not hardware related, the GNex gives you a pure Android experience, and you're always going to get official updates quicker.

They're both great phones, and neither is really objectively 'better' than the other — it really depends on what your priorities are.

      • you've said it, the SD slot wins my vote.

      • Gs2 camera has higher megapixels but nexus camera has zero shutter lag. Hard to just say one is better than the other unless gs2 is using bigger sensors

        • Higher mega-pixels means nothing here.

The Galaxy Nexus has the better sensor by far, you'll get higher quality photos which are smaller in size. That's desirable.

          Also, zero shutter lag.

Is the Nexus or the Note in the shops yet to have a play with?

    • Nexus is in Telstra shops.

  • since this is asian import, does it have asian characters?

    • bought an import a while back, mine was english default.

    • french has english characters but I can't read it all the same. just saying

  • between the following

    G Nexus
    Samsung s2
    samsung s3
    samsung note

    something else from other company

which one would u guys/gals rather get or wait for..

    • +1

I prefer the gs2 over the nexus, the note is bit too big for my pockets, and the s3 is rumored to come out around the half year mark, I'd wait for it. However the gs2 is also still to my personal preference the best phone out at the moment, much better than my old gen desire.

sgs2 screen has better clarity compared to g nexus, the latter using pentile screen which sucks and the viewing angle doesn't seem as good as sgs2

        • +2

True pentile screens aren't generally as good s RGB but with such a high resolution you can't tell that its a pentile screen. I have had my Galaxy Nexus for over a month and I love it. The screen is amazing.

None, arguably the AMOLED screen puts me off , when compared to SLCD on HTC That said, NOTE is very attractive , thanks to the resuscitation of the styles S Pen which is so versatile and offers a completely different user experience. Plus the size of its screen makes it ideal to cope with heaps of tasks which previously could only be done awkwardly on other smartphones. I'd like to wait for the white version which looks fabulous but out of stock for long time!

      • +2

What? Why would the AMOLED put you off? It's superior to SLCD in every way.

  • This thing need to be $500 comeon the dollars $1.03 and its old now in phone years ;)
It should drop like a lead weight when the 32GB version is released!

  • got my note from kogan, massive screen and very fast delivery, different to DWI, ordered 21th dec, canceled my order after wait for 3 weeks
