YadaYadaYada on 17/01/2012 - 12:10 ¶Whoa that is really cheap. I was looking at flights from Sydney to Malaysia for Jan (yes I know that's peak season) and flights were around 1300 return >< Even in off peak, flights are about 800 return.

but tony fernandes already obtained some shares on the malaysian govt's airlines

stargalaxy on 17/01/2012 - 15:51 ¶He means seat selection, you have to pays to get good seat in Airasia, else it will be first come first serve basis.

jackofspade on 17/01/2012 - 14:06 ¶$199MYR which is about $66AUD depends on your bank's exchange rate.
+1 votejackofspade on 17/01/2012 - 14:35 ¶The fare is $67MYR + airport tax $132MYR = $199MYR ($66AUD)
grab_ur_freebies on 17/01/2012 - 14:42 ¶So you would have to pay in MYR? I had it set on USD & the fights are still $100AUD+ (after curr. exchange) for most days.

alwayscheaper on 17/01/2012 - 13:33 ¶Just buy another KL to Hong Kong return - which is less than $200 USD
macharmaine on 17/01/2012 - 13:43 ¶website not working??!!! it allow me to pick my dates and the $99 fare came up. but does not go through to finalise the booking/ payment etc.

I think the reason we have syd-kl is becuase they are getting rid of the kl-london, kl-paris routes.. last flight is march 31

+1 votegrab_ur_freebies on 17/01/2012 - 14:19 ¶Cost of flights + 'HK equiv. stimulus pkg' = An almost free holiday (factor in accom.) + extra cash in pocket for ozbargaining. :-P
+1 vote@ drexxx… basically the HK govt has too much money in the bank… so they are giving all their citizens 6000HKD to help them out.
instead of spending money on healthcare or social welfare, they decide on giving it to the people …. im not sure if foreign workers get the money.
Im not complaining cause I was born there and spend a great deal of my childhood there but never paid a cent in tax towards the hong kong govt.
for more info
+1 votegrab_ur_freebies on 17/01/2012 - 14:31 ¶They are most likely doing this (following suit w/ Aus) with the purpose & hopes of boosting the economy by having ppl spend more, but IMHO still think some ppl will just put it away somewhere for backup/emergency money in these hard times…
+2 votesgrab_ur_freebies on 17/01/2012 - 14:23 ¶A few months ago, HK gov announced that they would hand out a sum of money (one off) to any current or previous resident/citizen of HK that holds an ID.

"Hong Kong announced on Wednesday that they would be giving away $6000HKD (about $770 USD) to each adult -permanent resident- in Hong Kong."
+1 voteIs it just me or getting to the payment page, submit payment then it says seats not reserve or some crap like that?
Note to Air Asia - if you want to recruit new customers then please at least ensure your booking system is up to scratch. Thought they would've learnt from Jetstar and their absolutely useless booking system. Probably Amadeus or something.

+1 vote"[1018:ClassNotAvailable] Sorry, we are unable to reserve the selected flight(s) at this time. Please select another flight(s).
[1018:ClassNotAvailable] Sorry, we are unable to reserve the selected flight(s) at this time. Please select another flight(s)."
This is the second time!!! COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!
they took my credit card and it says pending but i got a case number now with that message above….. wtf???

According to this article another sale for $149 will start on the 19th. It's not clear though whether it will be a new batch of seats or just the leftover ones from today.

+1 votemacharmaine on 17/01/2012 - 15:03 ¶i booked my flights!! thanks for this post! in the end had additional fees on lugguage & "processeing fee" and seats; but can do without food or comfort kit or in flight entertainment!! paid $343 return SYD to KL, thats pretty good price.
+5 votesSumaraiPizzaCat on 17/01/2012 - 15:06 ¶Jetstar found a way to get around their 10% price beat guarantee… by freezing when you try to check for the flight between Sydney and KL between April and October. Well done Jetstar!
sydney_kings on 17/01/2012 - 15:28 ¶don't think you can use jetstar - as they do not have a matching Sydney - KUL route
+2 votessydney_kings on 17/01/2012 - 15:22 ¶Book using two one way tickets, even with the extra 10 ringgit surcharge, the return leg comes to $75 AUD (with a i.e. $175 return flight to KUL)
