Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 207ml - $15 (Was $20) + $9.90 Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Repco

240

This stuff works if you SAND BACK FIRST with 1,000/2,000/5,000 grit

Unlike the reviews, I wouldn’t expect something to hide scratches in clear coat without sanding. Maybe I’m wrong

I've used it, sure as heck didn't sand it….

Was great for door handles scratched up with rings.

This is one of the very few products that actually work.

I've tried different compounds, polishes, waxes and other scratch removal creams, and Meguiar's was the best out of the lot.

It is kinda expensive for a small bottle, but I wasted money on buying cheaper alternatives that didn't work before I finally caved and spent the money on this.

  • this thing actually work on my bumper, but require some patience to repeat the process.

  • Is this a permanent option or does it go down over time?

Permanent in my personal experience. But I did the correct preparation

does it go down over time?

      it's not a glaze

Can also vouch for this working, got some minor scratches all the way down the passenger side of my blue ute (company car) from a small branch I didn't see when going down a dirt track in Dwellingup, was recommended this at Supercheap and it did the trick, with only one or two areas not completely disappearing. Took out a few other scratches I already had from around the tailgate too. It won't perform miracles but does make light scratches disappear, make sure you get some polishing sponges and/or a microfibre cloth to apply it.

Handy as planning to hand the car back in a few weeks.

    • Is a microfibre good enough to apply it? Or is a polishing sponge much better?

      • Depends on how hard you want to go with it. I have used this stuff with a DA with a more gentle foam pad and it worked well on a panel with very minor scratching from hand washing. I have also used it with one of those foam cones you use in a drill. Foam applicators and microfibre clothes are a much more manual method but may be appropriate in certain circumstances.

  • Reviews on Repco's website are pretty bad.

most likely from people expecting a miracle product and/or don't understand how paint correction works.

  • Worked for me when I've banged up my car against gutters. Didn't need to sand first.

Just pricematched with Supercheap through their online chat platform in the checkout area, got it for 14.49.

    • Looks like they've now dropped the price to $13.99
