    • OP’s link comes up with the silver and black models for me

      • Weird, I wonder why is that. I don't see that model when I search for "sunbeam" either.

  • this or the breville one?

    • +1

Did some searching on this recently and would definitely wait for a good sale on the Breville. Many reviews of this one end up with leaks that can cause electric shocks, which was the main reason I stayed away.

    • +1

Bought mine around this time last year due to WFH arrangements. My machine's been great making 1-2 coffees a day for the last 12 months.
Breville does have better reputation and reviews overall but this one ain't bad at all :)

    • I also bought mine about a year ago for WFH - would have to say the same thing. Not had a single issue (no leaking or electric shocks that I can recall!). Gets used once or twice a day, cleaned and descaled as per advised in the manual - works great. I've not had any experience with Breville, but this machine doesn't seem to be bad at all.

I almost bit the bullet, but it seemed to be the same internal water leaks that occurred from months to 1.5 years range and I didn't want to risk it. Just saying be careful and hope you guys are lucky with the longevity of your machines :) keep them maintained as I imagine many of those cases would have been due to lack of maintenance!

    • I got the breville bambino and I absolutely love it hey, haven't given this one a go obvs but just wanted to throw my 2 cents in

      • Is yours the plus? and if it is, how is the auto frothing?

        • Nah, mines the smaller one, got it on a deal at myer, tbh I don't see the purpose in getting the plus? And working out how to froth it manually is easy.

          • +1

@cdunks: The only difference I cared about is the auto frothing so I can be lazy :) I can do manual frothing, but why manual if the auto is good!

            • +1

@frogduck: haha fair, i've seen reviews though and that auto frothing seems simple enough with the sensor turning off when the milk reaches a certain temp, I just couldn't justify the (at the time) $150 price difference.

        • I have the plus, and trust me, the auto frothing is good for lazy people like me.

I just set the jug, press the button, and wait for it to do it's magic.

No need to hold hot/warm jugs, no need to set the jug at angles etc.

The plus is under $350 on TGG Commercial, as per my last check. You would need a separate grinder though.

          • @karseeeejaaaa: I checked TGG commercial earlier and its gone up to 361 or something (still not that much difference). However, I still have a working coffee machine at home, just looking at my future options. Thanks for that feedback (And backing up my laziness)!

          • @karseeeejaaaa: There's a conical burr grinder at aldis at the moment, $99.95 with 3 yr warranty. I'd say that's a good deal!

            • @Scotch: Sure, trust you on that.
But I swear on my Breville grinder 🙂

  • Did some research after the last ao sale, I’m new to coffee making and felt the sunbeam would be a good start. If after a year or so I felt the need to buy something nicer with better functions then I can just sell and buy a breville or similar. I paid $311 for the sunbeam

  • Sunbeam usually just isn't a good choice. Seems everything they make leaks in one way or another.

  • Cheap price… but with the reviews i have seen there is a reliability issue.

    Built in grinder
    PID temperature control
    Thermoblock
58mm group head - "Commercial Standard" - Breville is 54mm excluding dual boiler

  • OOS or pulled? Can't see on the appliances online page anymore.

    • Still showing, tried desktop & mobile

Figured it out: they won't post to Brissy/Gold Coast area so is hidden from my account.

  • +1

I've had mine for over 6 months, makes 3 coffees a day on average and does the job. There's things I wish it was better at but realistically at this price, brand new with warranty, you can't go wrong.

We have one in our office at work and it gets absolutely slammed. Maybe 15+ coffees some days. Has not missed a beat in over a year.

Hey RogueWolf, I bought this late last night and was about to post it here finally after being swamped with work. I should never prioritise work over OzBargain!

I thought this would get a huge amount of likes as it got 129 likes when it was $369!

I had been debating between this and the Sunbeam EM5000, to be honest I was lazy and wanted the 5000 as it does the coffee and milk in one go. I read many reviews saying the milk stops working after a while, otherwise I was all over that as we've always used ground rather than beans and the major selling point for the 5300 is the grinder

One thing which is great though is I ordered at almost midnight and it's due for delivery tomorrow, well before the eBay indicated time.

Seems like a good price, majority seem very happy with it from previous deals & few on this deal, next option is breville in the $500s, think you’ll be happy with it. Now talk to your boss to give you time off for more ozbargain lol
