  • does this support Microsoft Outlook on Mobile? asking for a friend; her work email is moving to Outlook mobile and her current phone does not support it.

    • The C3 does, so shouldn't have any problems here either

    • She must have some weird or very outdated phone?

      • Probably old and the app won't install on the older aos or ios..

      • Oddly Samsung Galaxy S7 does not seem to support Outlook mobile from the note that she get from her workplace.

        • I've run Outlook on an S7 before… That's a bit weird

        • +1

It's not Galaxy S7 or Outlook. It's the e-mail address that are from the government departments. They tend to have stricter security which required you to install their own software for you to be able to use their email.

    • can she just use her browser to log into outlook 365 and login that way rather than use the app perhaps?

    • +1

If your work requires you to check your mail from your mobile, your work should be buying the phone.

For - huge battery, 2 year warranty
Against - only 3gig ram, slow CPU, only 32 gig storage.

    • +2

      Micro USB, No NFC

    • Against - only 3gig ram

      Only 3 gig ram

My current phone has 2 gig; so will be an upgrade for me lol

Perfect first phone for a high school kid?

    • +1

Only if you want to see them grumpy on a daily basis…

      • +11

They can buy their own phone then

        • Buy their own phone with parents money.

          • @RSmith: That's right because heaven forbid if someone asked their high school kid to get a job after school to earn some pocket money. Imagine the outrage from today's parents if that happened πŸ™‚

  • No NFC?

The custom firmware landscape seems barren, unfortunately.

Bought this a little while ago. While at this price it is a good deal, it's frustratingly slow in nearly every case. Battery life is decent, however with the CPU being fairly inefficient and it doesn't quite get the amount of usage that I expected. But at this price can't go wrong + is also an absolute champion on standby (feels nearly infinite)

    • so what do you use it for?

    • Have you enabled performance mode from the battery settings? This will allow the phone to work on full speed.

    • Thanks for the feedback. I was looking to get one for my old man, while he's not a power user, my brother's kids will use the phone a fair bit for games and are likely to complain if it can't cope.

  • Assuming this is better than the C3?

In that case regret buying the C3 πŸ˜–

    • C3 much better than this.

      G70 vs G35 cpu
      64gb vs 32 gb
      NFC vs n/a

only thing is C3 slightly smaller battery 5000mah vs 6000mah

      • Thanks feel better now 😊

For me its showing price 199

  • Its $199 not $119

    • +1

It was $119, I think that was a mistake by JB, which is rectified now

  • Yes, I was looking at it as a spare phone and prices changed from $119 to $199 upon page refresh.

    :(

  • JB always make these kind of mistakes and if you bought one, they will not honour it

    • Do they blame professionals though?

      • for my cases, they simply change the status to ship but never provide tracking no nor any items arrived. I have to go to my CC company to reverse the charge

    • Don't know if this one was an error or not, but I bought one and collected it just now.

    $119 @ Amazon (Backorder)

    Marine Blue
    Coral Red

    • +1

      Price match at JB?

    • +1

Thanks! Marine Blue is now $199.
      Coral Red is still $119.

At this price it's likely a pricing error, buy now if you want one.

Thanks jack, bought a red one yesterday. Hope it gets delivered.
      Price is now $199.

  • Wow. Litterally just came back from the shops with 2 of these for the low price, bought at 9 ish. Feel even better now :-))))

    • Is this better than C3?

    • why did you get 2? what are you using these phones for?

      • +1

Not brodening :-). I have 1 in high school and one will be next year. The one in high school now is running my old Redmi Note 4x so should be happy with the upgrade. Price was too good to pass up the second one for my younger one for next year :-)

It's probably not good enough for me personally - running S20 FE

  • Bought one, collected it just now. Not a bad phone for the price. I also know that it won't be using it at all, and probably will end up giving it away to someone in need. All fun!
    Thanks OP.

    • the charity will prob pocket it emselves
