Good price for this set, based on the previous sales history on ozbargain, seems like they ship it from UK, but price is cheaper than most AU stores. Also don't forget cash back from Cashrewards/Shopback, I just placed an order and got $7.79 back from Cashrewards.

LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron 42083, use promo code "LEGOCHIRON" will bring the price down to $279.99 USD: https://us.zavvi.com/toys-lego/lego-technic-bugatti-chiron-s…

    Is this real?

As have seen many scam sites for the lambo and Bugatti and others, along with lighting systems.

Not suggesting it's a scam, just am a little gun shy.

Site is legit. Been around for years.

    • +3

Zavvi is legit. Sister site to iWoot. Part of The Hut Group. I think they dropship. Based in Uk.

Boxes don't always arrive in the best condition but if you are building you'll be fine. And they take a bit longer to dispatch than they say.

I've purchased probably, 5 or 6 times from them in the past year.

Plenty of deals posted from Zavvi.

Works out 380 aud. Not bad

    • 385 but that doesn’t include conversion fees.

      • +1

On my lattitude card there are no conversion fees

        • Wish I have one of these cards

          • +1

@Stone Cold: Just get a Citibank Plus. No conversion fees nor monthly account keeping fees however it's not a credit card. Just a debit card. I initially got it for travel way back when but also useful for online purchases.

            • @driew: Thanks for the tips and I will give it a shot

              • @Stone Cold: You're welcome mate. Happy to help

              • @Stone Cold: Alternatively, if you want a credit card, see my comment below RE Bankwest Mastercard.. very happy with mine.

            • @driew: Alternatively, if you want a credit card, I have a Bankwest Mastercard. No conversion/international transaction fees and $0 annual fee. I find it useful for Paypal as PayPal was charging me conversion (in the form of a lower fx rate) and ANZ were charging me a % on top for international transactions. Much happier with the Bankwest.

        • On my lattitude card there are no conversion fees

Even with conversion/international transaction fees, it came to $389 for me so that hardly makes this a non-deal if you don't have a zero fee credit card and I'm not going to lose sleep over a $6.60 dollar saving I could have made on an item that regularly sells for upwards of $450.

    • Not bad

It's the all-time historical low for this set in Australia. It's a great deal.

  • i got mine through these guys. was legit for me

  • Does this kit still have the colour matching issues?

    • +1

      I'd say yes

    • +2

Yes, and Lego have stated that it always will have.

      • Really? they said that. I was holding out on the Sian until they sorted out the colour issues.

I've seen some examples of peoples builds that look very strange with three shades of green.

  • -4

If not, that would be lepei from CN?

  • How did you get cashrewards to direct you to Zavvi US? It just directs to the Australian site for me.

    • I registered an account on the US website and login, and cashrewards automatically direct me to the US website

      • Strange. I also registered a US account website, but it doesn't work. Cashrewards just directs to the Aus website.
I ignored CR this time. It was too good of a deal to pass up! Thanks.

        • just click throught cashrewards and then manually change it to US, hopefully it still track that way

@ozvictor: All good. I've been keen on the Lambo for a while. It looks like an awesome build! Thanks for the post - really appreciate it.

Nice, just what I need with my crypto profits.

      when lambo

    • Got one with my pokie profits.
Still waiting for my crypto profits to materialise.

I wouldn't go ahead with this one. Very suspicious Lego set. Might be a Chinese copy for a lot of money

    • +8

      Zavvi is a legit site

    • +3

Brought the Lambo from Zavvi about 6 weeks ago. Delivered within 2 weeks. Legit product and box well packed and in perfect condition.

    • +2

Might be a Chinese copy for a lot of money

Lepin/Decool knock-offs are exclusively sold through Chinese marketplaces like TaoBao, AliExpress, SuperBuy, AliBaba, Banggood, YourWOBB and LepinWorld.
There are no remotely reputable vendors that stock that crap.

Zavvi/iWOOT is a UK-based online store. They only sell genuine Lego.

  • Thanks OP picked it up.

  • Zavvi is an legit site for lego. I just purchased the Liebherr R 9800 for $484.99 with free shipping. Cheapest I've seen anywhere

  • It is very cheap!
Just got one and hope box arrives in good condition.

  • I ordered some speed champions sets and instead of boxing them up together they wrapped cardboard around each one and posted from the uk. Each one was crushed. I have ordered other things successfully enough though

  • +2

Here's my posting some time back

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/613344

Seems some people don't trust Zaavi, but - have bought the lambo before and it came mint in cardboard box.

Also bought the London Bus from that time and it still hasn't arrived. The Ferrari came crushed, emailed them and they gave me further 15% off to keep it instead of returning it.

    • London bus is still on backorder.

  • Have no available credit now. Had purchased 4 of the 42100 set

  • Completely forgot about Zavvi ever existing. But yes they're a legit website. Bought from them many times but years ago. Always went okay, if only a bit slow at times.

  • +1

Zavvi is a legit site selling real Lego, but sometimes the boxes don't come in the best condition.

Also want to add that even though the instructions tell you to build a LHD car (with spoiler controls on the right), you can build a RHD version instead without problems.

  • +1

I don't trust the site personally. I've only ordered twice (each AUD400 or more), waited over 2 months each time, the box had never left the docks in UK and I'd fight for a refund (which they did eventually give each time). this was in both November 2020 and January 2021. The savings aren't worth the hassle myself and I'd rather buy locally and be assured of a delivery. Just my opinion.

  • +1

    My order has shipped :)

    • +1

      Same here. Ordered on 08/05.

  • +1

my order arrive today, impress with the speed for international shipping, took 9 days only. Box in perfect condition, happy with my purchase

  • +2

Arrived today, perfectly packed and would 100% buy from them again.

    • +2

mine too. no issues at all.

    • +2

      Ditto that.

Mine arrived in mint condition and I mean mint. Boxes on the shelves of Myer/DJs/BigW/Target never look this good.

So much for the "dOn'T bUy fRoM zAvVI, tHeY aLwAyS dAmAgE tHe BoX!!1!" stories.
