        Is it a good deal?

        • +10

101 % yes probably the cheapest ever in ozb

  • +2

PS: JB Hi-Fi now sell 8BitDo Controllers, so could potentially price match.

    • +3

feel sad how many my fellow australian got ripped off paying $36 more to jbhifi….

    • would be better if they would, with gift cards, it will be cheaper.

    • they won't. The only online retailer they honor is Amazon and that too Amazon AU only, without any coupon codes.

      • +2

most likely the jb staff will say "sorry that is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy below our cost price"

      • why won't they match kogan, its australian no?

        • this is not kogan, this is jackdeal

          • @CyberMurning: I know, i meant in the past when the previous model was like $55 instead of $70 on kogan, does jb price match kogan

Are the triggers on this controller analog or just on/off switches?

I’ve had “cheap” controllers before and the triggers tend to just be on/off which is a bit crap for car games.

    • That's because the Nintendo Switch console itself do not support analog triggers at all, hence its absence from every other controller.

      • Thanks silverrat23. So are you saying this controller doesn’t have analog triggers?

        • +1

Reviews seem to show that the larger triggers are analog.

      • +1

        Wrong. This has analog triggers.

Of course they're binary when used on Switch though.

        • Not sure if I'm remembering right, but I think Mario Sunshine got patched to accept analog trigger inputs from the GameCube controllers? Not sure if that extends to 3rd party controllers… Or any other games though lol

          • @Jdrizzle: Yeah I think that's a one off for using GC controllers through the adapter only. This presents itself as a Pro Controller to the Switch so it won't get that treatment.

      • Incorrect. The Switch DOES support analog triggers (even though none of the official Nintendo controllers for the Switch have them).

It's up to the game developers whether or not they bother to code their games to utilise the analogue trigger support - but given that no official first party Switch controllers have them, most devs wouldn't bother to spend the time coding support. But there ARE some games that can utilise them.

They are analog and can be fully customised via the app so you can make them on/off too.

  • Just my luck, just bought the previous model of this a week before they announced this version 2. What am i missing out on?

    • +1

check youtube reviews most mentioned whats new.
but iirc, extra 2 buttons, better grip, easy platform switch, and many more :)

    • +1

Much better dpad on the Pro 2, rear buttons, face buttons feel more sturdier (my Pro+ buttons wiggled around a little bit), plastic has a nicer textured feel on the underside, a physical switch to change modes, profile switch button. Apart from that everything else is identical between the two models (shape, triggers, bumpers, start/select, analog sticks). Also you can now customise the controller via a smart phone app over bluetooth but it also works with the PC software too.

  • Nice, bought 2 to complete my set.

I've got the non pro models and they're excellent, can't fault them.

    • do they both connect to the same dongle? PC?

      • bluetooth, bro… no dongles

        • Very cool. Thanks for the reply!

  • Legend! Thanks

  • Bought this last month from Dicksmith on April 13th for 53.99. One month later, I have not received the controller yet, although AusPost claimed the parcel is being prepared for shipping since May 4th.

    • Same for me

I already read the specs saying that "8BitDo Ultimate Software Now on PC, Android and iOS". but has anyone tried with xbox series x?

    • +2

      It will not work.

This is really good controller I got one….. Don't know if I need anthr one…..

    • I've got version 1. These deals are tempting me too much. I do prefer the concave buttons though.

  • all gone :(

  • +1

    omg oos
jack should pay me some commissions… 622 clicks in just 70 mins

  • +1

Damn, missed out on my own deal!

  • Wow, just had a flick through their 8bitdo section of the website, you guys cleared them out completely.

    • +1

yeah anything with good price shows up at ozb, BOOM! —- gone….

seriously if apple microsoft or sony put their logo on this thing and sell them at $120 people will be like oh so cheap amazing gamepad from famous company…..

      • +4

Microsoft would take out the battery pack and charge $30 for it too

  • Great price but I'm more interested in a sequel, hopefully with 4 rear buttons and a new shape.

4 rear buttons to replace the face buttons for shooters, and personally I feel like the ergonomics are the weakest point of this controller. For me it doesn't feel as good as any of the big 3s controllers, but I believe they will get better, and to be fair their budget and experience pales in comparison. Maybe they can drop the SNES shape, it's iconic but if it's limiting your design then move on, they have the brand recognition now.

Great controller, bought a used one from gumtree for $5.

Currently using the "Duke" hyperkin controller for PC also bought used for $15.

  • Is this better than the PS4 controller

    • -1

      52.99x better

    • Better dpad, works with the Switch, USB C instead of that dinosaur one etc. Yes.

  • +2

    White colour back in stock.

  • Anyone heard anything about these shipping?

  • +1

I've not heard anything from these guys yet. I am growing concerned that this is a fake site.
