Are Huawei Mobile 4G Routers nbn Compatible?

I am looking to set up NBN broadband at home and currently have Huawei B618s-66d (Telstra 4GX Modem) Router unlocked so wondering if that can be used as a modem for NBN?

Or would definitely need to go for another Modem?

If I was to BMO Modem which one it should be?

TIA

  • What nbn can you get at your place? FTTN, FTTB, FTTC, FTTP, HFC, Fixed Wireless?

    • FTTN

      • I forgot to ask. How much did you want to spend? Are you going with Telstra or?

        • I was with Telstra but now I am looking to change it to another ISP i.e. Exetel etc.
for Router I am not sure how much to spend on, may be around $150.

@TaurusHead: Pickup a Telstra smart modem gen 2 for a bargain price off Gumtree. From a store there is the TP-Link VR600, VR2100, VR2800.

No, this router is for access via the cell phone network.
It does not have a WAN port, so can’t connect to any nbn service.

If you have FTTC, NCD is the modem. So you can use any router as a WIFI router, if you can configure one LAN port to act like a WAN port. I use Huawei B315s 4G router came with Vivid-wireless with FTTC (PPPoE mode) by configuring LAN 4 as a WAN port from settings. 4G gets disabled in when WAN is connected in my router even there is a sim inserted.
