    New Ultimate members only.

Existing members still comes up at $15.95 per month.

I'll update the Title. Sorry about that

      • All good mate. Just saving others from trying to do it like I did as existing subscriber.

  • Worked for me as well. I had Ultimate before but that was 1 year ago.

  • Worked for me too. I had ultimate before about 6 months ago.

  • +5

Not working for me, my sub cancelled around 3 months ago

    • It's either luck of the draw or the more you took this offer, the less likely Microsoft will re-offer it to you. For my main account, I managed to do it twice… since then, Microsoft never offers it to me again.

    • +6

These subscriptions are console-wide, so you can just create a new account on your console and redeem it.

      • So youre saying that as long as another account on my xbox can purchase this deal and it will apply to all users? I have my kids setup on my xbox. Never though to see if theirs would work when mine doesnt qualify.

        • +1

Yep, multiplayer works on the non-subscribed account, as do Game Pass games, you'll just have to start their downloads on the subscribed account.

Only thing you don't get access to is the Game Pass points scheme.

          • @ProfessorBargain: Sweet. Thanks for that. Will give that a go and see how it works out.

          • @ProfessorBargain: Multiplayer for free games no longer requires Game Pass.

My 10 year old was delighted as it means I no longer have to log him in for Fortnite.

            • +1

@Xenocaust: Pretty sure that's only for free games, whereas paid-for games that include multiplayer still require a Gold/Game Pass subscription on the console.

  • +1

    Thanks @ozyboy and @Freddag.

    Updated the content and title

  • Appears to work for me. I haven't signed up for gamepass since PC was in Beta, almost 2 years ago

    • I have not used for around 6 months, was still very beta'ish back then.

  • anyone have access to Xbox cloud PC ?

    • I think cloud is only available later on this year.

  • Include RE8, then I will subscribe. lol

    • 33.333 cents per month… Hm… I am sure it will make a big difference. Enough saving to pay for a house deposit perhaps? Deposit towards a Lego house maybe…

      • +1

        are you lost? wrong reply?

        • +3

Include RE8, then I will subscribe. lol

That implies the current collection in GamePass Ultimate is not worthy of even $1 for 3 months? Just found that hard to believe. Furthermore, expecting RE8 isn't very realistic since I think RE7 was added (or re-added) into GamePass Ultimate recently.

          • +1

@netsurfer: Ah sorry, didn't quite understand your reply. I get it now.

  • -5

I still don't get the point of subscription gaming

    • Would save me a lot of shelving space for games i bought 10 years ago I haven't ever played.

    • +6

Game pass makes a pretty good case for subscription gaming imo. Spending a lot more time on my Xbox than PS5

    • +2

It has, without a doubt, been a console seller for Microsoft in some markets. With Bethesda in their stables now, it will continue to be.

    • +5

Honestly I easily spend half the amount on gaming now; and I’m getting a far richer variety of titles even if I don’t explicitly select them.

Even the older last gen titles are being updated with 60fps and HDR on the service.

There seems to be so much energy and momentum behind Game Pass, it has easily become the Netflix of gaming.

    • It's like Netflix. Does it matter if you own the movie/game if you get to enjoy the content? It's also a good way to trial a game and buy it later if you prefer to purchase your games. I've saved a tonne of $$$ not having to buy games since subscribing almost 2 years ago.

    • its cute that you think you actually own a game if you buy it

  • Worked for me, probably been 6 months since I used the same deal last.

  • +2

After you add this, you can add Eneba 7-days XGPU for $1.20 per week, bring yourself to 6 months at the cost of one.

Only the 7-day ones work, the 14-days are first time trial type, the 7-day is actual sub time, I think from US Pringle cans. I've added months of them and all 20+ codes have worked. Just a pain to put them in one at a time and the Xbox redemption page is buggy, but you can see it increase with each one.

FYI with every addition of time, you turn back on auto-renewal at MSRP $16 for when your time runs out. So make sure to turn off after all codes, trial, etc. Ozbargainers don't need to pay full price ever for this subscription.

    • +1

There were XBLive Gold deals posted last year. They were technically better than these 7 days vouchers. However, you might still need one 7-day voucher. If Microsoft refused to let you upgrade from Gold to Ultimate for $1 (because you have done that before), the 7 day voucher would be the cheapest way to initiate the 1:1 conversion ratio to GamePass Ultimate.

Also, with Microsoft rewards, the 1 month GamePass Ultimate voucher code can be handy too. By turning on auto-renewal, you can get 1 additional month. Then, quickly turn it off afterwards (essentially 2 months).

However, right now, if you really want long term GamePass Ultimate, and don't want to create new accounts, then using the 7 day vouchers is a decent approach.

      • +2

Multiple sellers for same listing, scroll down and 0.70 euro.

        • +2

ahhhh right. cheers. never used it before.

    • I tried this for the first time cost $1.94 for 7 days but I did pay through PayPal still cheaper than monthly auto renew.

    • $1.84 after service fee

    • I couldn't get it to $1.20 a week as there was a service fee, however using HONEY did get me a small discount 0.23 euro.
But purchasing 10 weeks worth comes to about $1.30 a week so pretty pretty pretty good.

      • Prettyyyyy prettyyyyyyyy pretty good.

  • +1

Doesn’t work for me. My last subscription ended in March.

    • Same here!

      • me too. last subscription expired 5th March 2021.

    • Same

    • Try again. Worked for me just today

  • I was waiting for this deal to come around again but just rejoined a couple of days ago when I picked up a series s.

  • +1

Can you still convert existing gold to ultimate with this?

  • -1

No current active membership and it wants to charge $15.95/month. No deal here.

    • +1

Just buy the 7 day codes as mentioned above will cost you about $5/month.

  • I'm new to this and dont have an Xbox, can I use it to play games on my PC and use the EA Play access pass on PC too?

Do I need to create an American/USA Microsoft or Xbox account to redeem this?

    • +1

Yes to your first question. The games become available through the Xbox PC app or the Microsoft store on PC (whatever you feel like using but the Xbox PC app is way better).

No to your second. An Australian Microsoft account will do fine and there is no use to use it under an American account as the games are the same worldwide.

      • Thank you Flamexio, much appreciated :)

  • Bought Xbox Game Pass for PC for $1 (first month only) just 2 days ago. Anyone know if I can use this to get 3 months @ $1pm and then cancel it before it reverts to full price and return to Xbox Game Pass for PC for the regular price?

    • +1

Yes, you can. Assuming Microsoft offers you Game Pass Ultimate for $1 (3 months) and converts your remaining Game Pass PC. Not sure whether Microsoft will offer another bonus month for turning on recurring billing. If yes, do that too. Then, once everything is done, quickly remove recurring billing. That way, it will not auto-renew.

You will be able to revert to Game Pass for PC later on.

  • Finally worked for me. Xbox One S has been gathering dust for more than 6 months.
Last time there was a similar offer, it work was going to charge me $1, I stopped and wanted to wait another week or so I would have another week. Tried a week or two later and came up $15.95, the $1 offer never worked again till now. Get it while you can………… Woo hoo back on BF4 multiplayer, time for some claymores.

Remember to turn off Re-occurring billing right away…

Get the current free games too now, they will expire in 2-3 days.

  • Haven't checked Game Pass for a while, never found it worthwhile as I'd played most of the games I wanted to on it, however last few years have mainly been playing PS or Switch exclusives so have a bit of backlog.

Just bought this and so far on download:
    Doom Eternal
    Dragon Quest XI
    FF X/X-2
    FF VIII
    Genesis Noir
    Katana Zero
    Night in the Woods
    Yakuza 3
    Yakuza 4
    Yakuza 5
    Yakuza 6
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
    Prey
    Spiritfarer
    Wasteland 3
    VA-11 HAL-A
Titanfall 2 (sold my copy, want to play SP again)
Jedi Fallen Order (may not play as want upgraded version)

And that's just the game I actually WANT to play, phenomenal value and all available on PC.

edit: Oh wow just saw there is Cyber Shadow - add it to the list!

  • If I gift this to someone else, can I then take advantage of a similar offer later?

  • I really wish PlayStation did something similar. I've got a xbox one x from telstra with the game pass included and it blows PlayStations offering away. If I have known about the inclusions a few years back I would've jumped ship from PlayStation to xbox to save a lot of money

    • It is relative. PS is mostly about the exclusives. XB Game Pass Ultimate, sure, it is great to have so many games, but how often are you truly enjoying those games vs playing games that you decided not to purchase, but now they are in Game Pass, you would play them or try them out.

Sony is trying (with PS Plus Collection and better monthly PS Plus 'free' games), but it is difficult for Sony. First, most of their exclusives are single play games with limited to no micro-transaction. Second, unlike Microsoft, which makes money on Azure cloud, Sony needs to pay cloud providers (i.e. Amazon (for AWS) and Microsoft (for Azure)) to host their services.

If you are willing to wait a bit, for good OZB deals, base on my calculation so far, my spending on Sony and Microsoft camps are roughly the same. Don't forget, with physical games, you can trade in or sell them. With OZB deals, I have gotten more $$$ or EB world credits when I traded in a number of games. Also, sometimes, same title, PS4 trade-in value is higher (I found that out with Red Dead Redemption 2).

While these GamePass Ultimate specials are awesome, Microsoft won't let your main account has these deals repeatedly (maybe twice). Then, it will be either figure out a way to save cost or pay the RRP. Sure, you can keep creating new accounts, but that does imply that you don't really believe $15.95 / month is worth it.

Unless you believe $191 a year for GamePass Ultimate is a fantastic deal, I think it is best to be cynical and prepare for these special deals to dry out later on. Think about what's happening to XBox Live Gold now…

      • Nobody here on Ozbargain is paying full price. The most I've paid is $6 a month paid up till next May.

        • Correct, $1.2 for 7 days $62.57 for 365days. That's what we pay.

          • @ce5himm: How do you get it for that price I created an account but when I go to add funds there is a service fee so doesn't work out much cheaper than paying with PayPal?

  • I am currently on XGP 1 month trail( previous owner didn't use it) and I got extra 1 month for turn on auto renew ( I turned off straight away). That 2 month XGP.
Today I saw this deal showed on my console, $1 for 3 months GPU, If I took the deal, will I get 5 months GPU in total?

    New to Xbox, thanks

    • just paid $1, and it's been upgraded to GPU with 3 extra months. 5 months total now.
i have another 24 months GPU from telstra bundle, therefore i did not do the 2 year live gold upgrade trick.
let's see what games for june.

  • If I sign up on a PC, can I still use this on my Xbox Series X?

  • FYI https://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-closes-loophole-let…

    What you need to know

You can no longer redeem one year of EA Play for four months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Redeeming a year of EA Play now only gets you two months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
The previous option was an especially good deal as four months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate costs more than a year of EA Play.

  • Any idea when this expires? Can new subs still 1:1 gold:gp?

  • Popup from FB today, tried the other day still ask for regular price but today I could get it for $1.

I assum EA Play PC already included this time, right? How can I access EA play PC games?

Contacted EA support seems they are having issue with that, EA desktop app didn't recognize I have ultimate game pass and account linked.

  • I bought this but I've only got a 360 did I waste a dollar? 😂

I can't find anything on the web search, I haven't fired up the console yet.

    • They have PC and EA play on PC.

      • Okay will check that out thanks

        • Also free Xbox gold game, they still have 360 games.

  • Noob Question, but I got this deal because I only have PC. Am I only limited to the PC games ONLY or can I use it for ALL the games for both pc and xbox on the PC?

  • Created a new account just for this. Thanks OP!

  • I cancelled my ultimate subscription in December and tried to convert my xbox gold membership to ultimate but it wouldn't let me back then. I just tried this special for 3 months and it told me it would convert my remaining gold membership to Ultimate. So I quickly added 2* 12 more months for 46.67(https://www.mtcgame.com/en-AU/microsoft-points/xbox-live-gif…) and redeemed that (https://redeem.microsoft.com) giving me 6 months (from previous 12 month gold purchase) + 24 + 3 months for $1 = 33 months of Ultimate (expiry 04/03/24).

That's the old hack ( credit here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/600419) that I had expired but now seems to work again (you do need to use a VPN for Turkey if you use my link above).

    So that gets you 36 months of ultimate for 3 * $46.67 + $1 = $141.01

PS: First time i bought from MTC ING blocked the transaction so I had to call them to unblock. This time around, I used my ME bank card and it went through in one go.
PPS: I created an account so I can see the status of the order. I used Google Pay and it took about 50 mins for the 'Pending confirmation' payment status to go to confirmed. Once it was confirmed I immediately got the code to redeem via email.
