    Quilton 3ply Toilet Paper 12 Rolls - $5 @ Kmart

The pic you've linked to says it's $5.50

    • +1

Sorry Mate, I should have noticed that, but it was only $5 in store.
I have the pic of the tag from the rack, but thought linking catalog would have been better.
      My mistake! :)

maybe he forgot to add GST :)

Always cheaper in BIG W 7.48 /18 = .42 cents per roll. Everyday Low Price :P

    • +8

      bigw $7.48/18=$0.416 < kmart $5/12=$0.417 :)

      • +1

        +1 for accurate calculation

  • -5

    Removed my + vote, as it's $5.50.

please change the price to $5.50. thank you.

I don't know why it said $5.50 in the catalogue but it is sold for $5 in store. I grabbed a few yesterday :)

  • 8 pack Quilton was a ~$7.50 week ago during the Big W free shipping deal. Got 3 packs then with free shipping. This is a good deal if you're close to Kmart. Never occurred to me to get the essentials from Big W when they have free shipping. I always used to shop for electronics and stuff but thanks to the OzBargain post last week, I realised how beneficial free shipping really can be.

How is an 8 pack for ~$7.50 a bargain when you can get a 20 pack for just $2.50 more at Coles?

      • +1

Are you saying Coles is 2.50 more than Big W? If so, then 18 pack at 7.50 is cheaper than 20 pack at 10 dollars. The cost per roll is around 40 cents for Big W and around 50 cents for Coles. And Big W had free shipping.

        Typo above: i meant 18 not 8.

        • +1

that typo makes a huge difference to your post.

    • +1

err.. 8 pack for $7.50?? 93c/roll? I think you just got ripped off..

the 18 pack at BigW is only $7.48… 42c per roll… cheapest anywhere..

      • +3

Sorry guys. I meant 18 pack. Typo. Cannot edit anymore.

Quilton 3-ply dumps on airhead competition. WEIGHT COUNTS!

Don't use sheets (eg tissue paper) per roll. I used the Woolies fruit & veg scales to compare products: 190 roll Quilton 3-ply 50% heavier (more substantial & effective) than 'Cottonelle' - around mid 2011 8<))

(I had previously used premium Quilton Gold; but the standard 3-ply offers better value).

Having recently squeezed a 20 pack [at my target price of 50c per roll] into a shopping basket, I then saw the Big W 18 pack (just enough for a year) at $7.48 :-(

$5 for the smaller 12 pack is excellent value. My 20 rolls are split between upstairs and downstairs - food for the silverfish?

An 18 pack lasts you a year????

Well there is an infantry technique where you use 1 sheet at a time.

The Infantry Technique - how to make the best use of that last sheet of TP

(as described by an old army friend of mine)

Take your sheet and tear out a circular hole in the middle.
Put your finger through the whole and wipe yourself with the paper and your finger.
Use the remaining disc of paper (is it classed as chad?) to clean under your fingernail.

        • +1

          wow, what a technic… lol

        • +1

          WTF ? LOL.

    • +1

"I then saw the Big W 18 pack (just enough for a year)" - do you use both sides of the paper?

      • +1

A 18 pack would last you years if you are taking dump at work.

        • -1

but do you enjoy taking dump at work?

        • +2

nothing better than takin a dump on works time

    • -1

Woah!! 18 rolls per year. That's pretty good mileage!! Remind me never to shake hands with you!! P.S. I'd recommend you see a doctor. Constipation is bad for you in the long run!!

Without wishing to be anal retentive; [NORMAL] usage varies, but over several months for a MALE retiree averaged some 7 sheets a day. Would have been based on 4-ply Gold, however - will note date inside roll to review again as 190 sheets per roll for 3-ply, compared with 140 for 4-ply.

From memory CHOICE commented that per capita annual cost for toilet paper was a little over $30.

Perhaps the basis for a social study (PhD thesis?) with an age & sex breakdown 8<))

Does anyone now use newspaper ;-) … Bidet? … Or is there some unknown use for toilet paper, other than to feed the silverfish?

It was $5 at Knox City Kmart today. I think anything under 50c is good value for quiltons which seems better quality than the rest!

  • +2

Quiltons is the best toilet paper. Thick & strong.
