B&O Beoplay P2 Portable Wireless Bluetooth Speaker for $89 seems like a good buy too if that's your jam.

    • good price but no stock around my area unfortunately… thanks anyway

    • Pricing mistake?

H8i came out in 2018 if anyone was wondering.

The reason these are slashed in RRP ,( and not selling) is that the Sony's are much cheaper and much better.

    • Haha no they are not my friend. These are premium cans, not plastic and pleather. These are 3 years old with a few more models or since then. They have held value very well as they are premium, high quality build that will last you many many years

      • Form over substance.

        • Yea haha, if form didn’t affect substance you would be correct. Not everyone is picky about longevity and sound quality though.

          • @onlinepred: Sound quality is the substance, in this instance. My dad is still using my 7 year old Sony headphones I gave him. Those even support AptX, unlike the B&O.

            • @elektron: Yea, of which quality cones, quality padding, all directly affect sound quality, hence why these have high sound quality.

Are you saying the XM4 sound better than these? I'm guessing you have owned both?

              • @onlinepred: The XM4 sound like crap but have better ANC. Unfortunately, older Sony headphones (e.g. MDR-1ABT, hear.on 2) sound better. I've heard the H9i that a friend has, they were just okay. Sennheiser Momentum 3 sound fantastic and are built like a tank. These were a real bargain for $300 a couple of months back. I also own the B&W PX7 and not a fan of their sound signature.

                • @elektron: Ah right, perhaps they didn't tune their cans at all? I loved the PX7! Sennheiser momentum 3 are a huge upgrade over the XM4/mid range cans, they are pretty comfortable, but overall too bass driven for my likes, I listen to live music, and the Momentum 3's somehow make it sound artificial. Much better built than the old momentums too, and use actual quality materials, I'm still not a fan of their signature though. I think you prefer the bass forward signature, hence why you don't like PX7 or H9i.

                  • @onlinepred: I think at this level it comes it becomes more subjective and is down to personal preferences. I can't say that Px7 lacked the bass but something was missing for me. And I do think the momentums go down lower in the sub-bass, which is important for me. I don't like excessive bass, especially at the expense of mid clarity, but I like a good "slam" and the PX7s just aren't giving me that. I also felt that their vocals were a bit recessed, while the Momentums are just about perfect.

Having said that, I'm actually considering giving the H8i's a go at this price as I've read that they sound a bit better than H9i (still can't believe it's AAC only). I can't use LatitudePay as I'm not a first time customer, but can use JB gift cards.

                    • @elektron: My favs are still the Master Dynamic mw65, I just wish they were built a little better. It's ability to replicate kick drums perfectly had me hooked instantly.

@elektron: You can get the LattitudePay discount if you haven’t used it with JB Hi-Fi before, not if you’re a first time customer. Not sure if that will make any difference.

                      • @AnonyMiss: Thanks but when I select the LattitudePay as the payment option the total doesn't change. Do I need to select "Complete Order"? I didn't as I thought it would charge me the full amount.

                        • @elektron: Yeah, it should say about the $25 discount at the top of the LP page when you pay.

I’m not a new LP customer but I hadn’t used it at JB Hi-Fi before.

                          • @AnonyMiss: Not working for me unfortunately. Bought using gift cards from credit card points. Had to spend $225 as there isn't a $20 denomination, which is $30 more than the LattidudePay deal, so not getting the usually warm and fuzzy I usually get from scoring a ridiculous deal.

Agree, but if you want a B&O then it’s a nice price! The material and craftsmanship is excellent whereas sound quality is decent!

    Thanks OP, bought one!

You can get an extra $25 off if you’re a new JB Hi-Fi customer with LattitudePay:
