  • Waiting for a similar deal for the Fold 2.

  • Needless to say, the S21 offer earlier in the week was much better.

    • +1

Which one are you talking about?

      • +2

S21 128G free on $99/plan 12 months via JB. It has been superseded by this offer now.

    • I kept holding off the s21 for the s20fe 5g tbh.

Better battery life and Microsd card

      • I agree, but there's much less value in this deal compared to the free S21

  • Total cost over 12 months: $1,387 for what is effectively now a $599 phone.

    • +1

      $599 where?

      • Misread. Ignore me.

  • i will be crying everyday if paying $99 a month for a mobile

    • If the mobile is worth it. S21 Ultra 256GB for example. This phone is not, so no deal!

    • Works out fine if for example the s21 deal last month, flip the phone to a reseller online for $750 ( or try a bit harder on your own for more), put that straight onto the phone bill or even better if your work pays for your phone plan.

I was going to do the first, as I need a phone with a decent data plan for work, use my own dual dim oneplus 7, but can claim it all (as the sim is only used for work) as a deduction.
In the end I missed the boat as I saw the deal too late then VIC stores were all closed for covid.
I'll be looking for the next deal with a phone that fetches a better resell price.

  • Plus $500 JB Gift Card? *

*Available for New Telstra & Port-in Customers only. Excludes Telstra Pre-Paid, Boost and Belong customers. Minimum cost $1188. Offer not in conjunction with any other offer.

    • +1

Not in conjunction with Samsung promo. You either get the Samsung Galaxy S20 / Z Flip or the 500 Gift card, but not both.

      • Thanks for clarifying, with a $500 gift card it would have been a very good deal

  • +1

these deals are nothing more then smart marketing & people getting sucked in by the so called free phone & high data, do your sums not worth it especially if you dont use anywhere near that much data

    • especially of u wfh now. barely use anything these days

    • Would u suggest jumping on boost for now?

Ive been waiting for a good jbhifi deal but 99/89 a month is a bit of a slap

      • +1

they haven't done a $500gc on $69 plan for a while maybe hold off a bit & go on a cheap prepaid monthly sim

  • I don't see anyone mentioning it so I'll ask. Are these deals still able to get the early termination charge (ETC) on day one to get a much cheaper phone?

    • Day 1 ETC for the S21 deal the other day at least was $600 + $250 handset buyout fee on the Telstra portal. Gives you an idea of how upmarked these things are considering in-store they go for $1249.

      • I got the s20 fe a couple weeks after they were released with the same method and they never ended up actually charging me the ETC. I even called to confirm I didn't have anything owing.

It would have only been $595 for a $1200 phone at the time.

  • Z Flip is now $0 upfront.
